Veronica, I apologise for being remiss in contacting you since our date. Work has been busier than usual these past weeks. I have not forgotten, however, that I owe you another date if you'd still like to go out again. How is Sunday night?

Booth, Tremaine. Congratulations on your wedded bliss. Booth, I still have no clue what she sees in you. Tremaine, go easy on him. As far as anyone knows, he's never been with a woman before. You don't want to break him.

Oh, I'll break him all right. I have a lump the size of one of Jupiter's moons from where he ran me into the doorframe.

I encourage you to hex him for that. Honestly, men his age have no concept of patience. Or stamina.

Hm, I'll consider it.

If you do, can I see documentation? I like having new reasons to mock him.

Uh.

Sure?

AVIS

I SAID I WAS SORRY

I wouldn't say one of Jupiter's.

Hmm.

Maybe a small asteroid, then.

Why is it that when I have a date the entire department stops, but when you have a date you can announce it publicly?

Because we both know that nobody will believe there is a woman willing to date me.

And because you're higher up on the totem pole than me.

That seems severely unfair.

Downside of being the one in charge, I suppose.

I will ignore what I wish and accept the toast.

Do what you want, Booth. Just enjoy your honeymoon then get your arse back to work so you can go back to pretending to be a trained auror.

Well, it's good to know that you didn't forget about me. Work does get in the way, so I completely understand. We've been swamped making specialty orders for die hard Quidditch fans, so really, you're not the only one to blame for lack of communication.

As of right now, I don't see why Sunday night wouldn't work.

7:00?

Of course I didn't forget about you, Veronica. Should I make a list extolling on your virtues again? Because I would happily do so. And I completely understand that. I imagine you probably got an order from Potter, what with his current excitement. They do get a bit mental over quidditch. Not that I'm any different, save that I hide my enthusiasm better.

Wonderful. I'm looking forward to seeing you again.

I wouldn't stop you, but I think I may blush again if you did.

Ah, yes. Potter. Wrote his order in red and green, using large, large letters.

Who are you rooting for? Catapults? Puddlemere? Pride?

I can honestly say that I'm looking forward to seeing you, as well.

Well, let's see. You're beautiful, intelligent, interesting and, after sampling one your recipes, a fantastic baker, among other things.

I am not at all surprised. He's a bit of a prat.

Portree, of course, my dear. Have to have a good Scottish team in the finals. My grandda played for them back in the day, you know?

Well, I'm glad it's mutual.

As expected, my cheeks are now rather flushed. Thank you though, you seem to have a talent for cheering me up.

Yes, well, he's not the only one. At least he didn't make his order flash different colors, like some other people.

Right. Silly question. And, I wasn't aware! Very interesting.

Of course it is.
