Nick has to fight with the demon to get even a pause. Still, it works, but not enough that he's going to stop and get them a way out. They'll be fine if they stay here.
He tosses them a chain to pull themselves from the pit on, putting his own supernatural strength behind the task.
"Stay here, stay out of trouble." he growls.
"I'll be back to open the doors."
That's as much time as he has to save the sinners. The Ghost Rider's task is ever to punish the wicked.
