Tiger-Lily was born to a single mum, Gracie Oswauld, on a glorious January morning. The girl's father had left before she was born but Gracie had his last name put on the birth certificate and therefore the tiny blonde bub had the longest name in the hospital at the time, Tiger-Lily Moonbeam Oswauld-Spinks.

She had a rather different upbringing to most children given the fact she lived not only with her mum but her Aunts, Uncles and cousins as well. Her favourite of her cousins was her mother's sister's son, Joaquin... Oz. The two were close in age, Tiger-Lily being the older of the pair (although, most would assume Oz was the older one because he seemed more mature), and were best friends since the beginning. Sure, they had squabbles on occasion - okay, it was mostly Tiger-Lily getting fed up with Oz's boring "can't be bothered" moods - but they still got along like most siblings would.

It was the year they started Hogwarts the Oz and Tig were separated for the first time ever. Tiger-Lily knew deep down it would happen, but that didn't prevent her from being upset any less. However, Hufflepuff was the natural home for Tiger-Lily in school. She made friends easily amongst the 'puffs but that didn't stop her from going over to the Ravenclaw table to pester Oz during meal times or seeking him out when the two houses had classes together.

Tig also made friends in other houses, mainly Gryffindors and a few other Ravenclaws but not any Slytherins (apparently they were allergic to happy or something, Tiger-Lily didn't care). One of her good friends was a Gryffindor in the same year, Katie Bell. The girls took a few classes together and hung out on Hogsmeade weekends and the like. It was also through Katie, Tig met some of Katie's Quidditch team mates. She took to cheering them on when they played, even when they were versing Hufflepuff - which most her housemates didn't mind because they knew Tig was an oddball and loved her despite of it.

Her grades in school were not fantastic but she managed to get 5 OWLs and 3 NEWTs by the time she graduated. She didn't join any clubs or teams, but encouraged others to do so - like Oz to join the Ravenclaw team, he was good at flying, so why not?

She had a few boyfriends in school but none of those relationships seemed to stick for longer than a few months. Tiger-Lily wasn't bothered by it. When she was 15 she lost her virginity to George Weasley. It was fantastic, she'd do it again - only, one can only loose their virginity once. They weren't serious - after all, George wasn't the sort that dated and she had a huge crush on an older Ravenclaw boy. But it was fun and they stayed good friends afterward.

Between fifth and sixth years, the unthinkable happened. Oz was out wandering - as he usually seemed to do - and lost track of time. Tig can still clearly remember the shouts coming from her cousin as the werewolf bit him. It was the worst summer ever and Tiger-Lily visited her cousin every day while he was in St. Mungo's, except the day of his first transformation. Tiger insisted that Oz wouldn't hurt her and she just wanted to be there for him, but the St. Mungo's staff had told her no.

After school had finished, Tiger-Lily was stuck for what she wanted to do. Having only 3 NEWTs to her name didn't really open doors for her but Tiger was optimistic she'd find her place in the big wide world. It was one of the Weasley twins that set her on her path - she couldn't remember which because she has a hard time telling them apart. They told her that she was really good at saying hello and being friendly to people, maybe she should do it professionally.

Looking into it further, she pondered how she would do that. It was then she remembered the cranky old Welcome Witch at the desk at St. Mungo's from when her cousin was bitten. Tiger-Lily then went to St. Mungo's a demanded a job - the Head Healer on duty thought her attitude was funny and upbeat and offered her to do a couple of days relief as the Welcome Witch. It was fun and Tiger-Lily fell in love with the job. Telling people what floors things were on, greeting them all with a smile. In a way she thought she was being helpful and maybe even brightening up the poor sick or injured people's days.
