BRAND ACCUSED OF THROWING MATCHES!
While many sources state that the lackluster performance of the CAERPHILLY CATAPULTS was the fault of former seeker BAZ COURTNEY, it seems there may be another culprit at hand! GEOFFREY BRAND has been accused by the Caerphilly management for betting against the Catapults and throwing matches to fix results! Evidence of his betrayal turned up after this weekend's win, and action is to be taken against Brand immediately, though the beater has not been seen since Friday's game.

"He's indefinitely off our roster," Caerphilly manager Gareth Sayer stated. "Once we find him, we'll deal with him."

Catapults captain CARYS PARKIN had no comment as she left the Caerphilly facilities today, causing speculation as to whether or not the team had been suspicious of Brand's poor sportsmanship.

COURTNEY TO THE BATS!

Courtney has been the Catapults' Seeker for two seasons
In a last minute trade, the BALLYCASTLE BATS acquired struggling seeker BAZ COURTNEY from the CAERPHILLY CATAPULTS. While this might come as a shock to fans of the Bats as the team has been on a very hot streak, they all knew after the devastating mid-air collision that left their starting seeker SAMMY BURGOS out for the rest of the season that they'd need someone of star-caliber flying skills. While Courtney's record with the Catapults has not been the best, there are rumors that a dysfunctional locker room led to his abysmal perforamce. His record with the THUNDELARRA THUNDERERS of Australia was nearly perfect----a change of pitches might do the Aussie some good.

and one last big upheaval! )

News from Falmouth!
Falmouth Falcon's keeper Michal Conway Lynch was rushed to St. Mungo's late last night after the team healer was unable to wake the quidditch player up following an accidental unseating at practice.

In what was described by the Falmouth's manager as "a misfiring of communication" between Lynch and Falmouth chaser Howell Williams, Lynch fell off his broom and clipped a hoop before hitting the ground. Lynch was not wearing a helmet, and did not have his wand on him prior to the fall.

"Three knocks to the head one after another is never good," Percival Derwent, the Falcon's team Healer, stated in a press release early this morning. "His injury would have been less severe if he had had his wand on him. Players usually do to avoid accidents like this."

"Michal has a thick skull," Cuthbert Alton, Falmouth Manager, responded when asked if the fact that Lynch was put in a potion-induced coma was troubling. "I am not going to make an official statement about the line up for Saturday's match against Montrose until he is awake."

No other Falcons representatives responded further. When asked for a statement, Williams refused to comment.

As of now, Lynch is still in Mungo's charge.

Lynch has been a staple on the Falcon's roster since 1979, and is known for his brash tactics in the league and aloof personality in the media. He has established in the past his close relationships with his teammates, Williams especially, so with what little information coming out of Falmouth at the time, it is unclear what actually happened on the pitch.

In the midst of the V2 Virus outbreak, The Daily Prophet has become embroiled in a startling news development!

The Appleby Arrows' SAOIRSE MULLET, twenty, and THOMAS MCCORMACK, twenty-five, have both been declared missing after a ransom note was delivered to the Prophet offices early this morning.

While the note cannot be released to the public, we can say that it does include a lump sum for the two quidditch players' return, though no reason behind their abudction.

Who is behind this snatching is still a mystery, in addition to how and when this act occurred.

If you have any information about their whereabouts, or what person or persons may be behind this act, please contact the Department of Magical Law Enforcement at once.

After an extremely disappointing season, Wigtown Wanderers have announced they are cleaning house. In a statement to the press, the spokesperson for the team said finishing last was unacceptable, and it was time to shape up or ship out. First to go the Seeker, who caught a dismal seven snitches this past season. Their replacement? Well that has a few eyebrows raised here at our offices.

Rising Star's Traumatic Past Revealed!

Were you surprised when the rising star of the quidditch league, Matt Summerby of the Cannons was not asked to participate in this year's European Cup? Us too! We at The Tattler thought it was awfully strange that Matty didn't put his name in the pool to represent his country, so of course we needed to find out why!

Our super sleuths discovered the seeker's tragic past that has been a well-hidden secret since the tender age of nine. Matty's parents, Matthew Sr. and Jane Summerby, were victims of the Manchester Mass Muggle slaughter of 1965, leaving poor Matty alone and orphaned.

No wonder Matty didn't opt to represent a country! He probably has no idea where his family hails from, being separated from them at such a young age!

We tried to approach his agent, a naïve rookie by the name of Phoebe Doge, on the matter, but she didn't answer our owls! Tsk, tsk!

How depressing!!! Let's hope for some more happy days for our favorite Cannon (though with their history, doesn't seem like his luck will last for much longer! Eep, sorry!)
