Former all-stars and teammates
Finn McLaggen and
Martin Boot will be teaming up to provide color commentary during this season's match-ups! McLaggen and Boot spent three years together on the Puddlemere United, bringing home two league cups.
"I'm very excited to get back into the game, even if it's not on a broomstick," McLaggen said to the press. "You couldn't keep me away for long!" Rumors had been swirling that McLaggen was preparing to take on a managerial role, but the former world-class seeker has stated that he'd rather watch and talk about the game than deal with the the business aspect. "That would take out all the fun, wouldn't it?"
Boot is more than excited about coming back to the game. His wife, Nicole Bardera-Boot, is a starting chaser for the Harpies, and providing commentary for their matches is what he's anticipating the most.
"She says I'm not allowed!" he said, causing a great laugh with the journalists. "But I'm going to get in there, don't you worry. How could I not?! I have
so many stories to add, it'll be great for the the ratings!"
Both McLaggen and Boot have stated that one of the main reasons for retiring was their family, and that their new positions at the WWN allow them to stay in touch with the game they love so much and give them time for their wives and children.
