ELIMINATION ROUNDS!
Ireland vs. Wales and Scotland vs. Italy! If your ears weren't glued to your wireless during these two matches, you may as well go chop them off your head now! They were NOT to be missed!

IRELAND vs. WALES

It looks like the luck of the Irish was in the air! On St. Patrick's Day, did you really think that Team Ireland was going to lose?

For nearly three hours, the two teams battled it out, keeping the scored tied until Wales' Andrea Johnson spotted the snitch! But it seemed like everything went according to Ireland's plan. Charlie Spinnet blocked what would be the go-ahead goal with a spectacular double eight loop, Joey Jenkins knocked Carys Parkin straight off her broom as she attempted a rebound, Saoirse Mullet and Holly Troy's double team spun Cadfan Priddy 180 degrees, and the seeker with a big broomstick seat to fill, Iwan Quigley, seemingly struck out of nowhere and snatched the snitch straight from under Johnson's grasp. The celebration was of course spectacular, with fireworks and golden coins shooting out of the sky and into the crowd. What a day to be Irish!

FINAL SCORE:

300 - 150

SCOTLAND vs. ITALY

Sorry ladies, it looks like Matteo Basili won't be gracing the pitches of New York any more this tournament. You've got Team Scotland to thanks for that!

The two powerhouses battled it out in the air with the most amount of fouls this tournament's seen! Thirteen for Scotland and a whopping twenty-one for Italy! Their brutal tactic seemed to be working as their goal count continued to grow, but with Thomas McCormack and Rafe Kirke utilizing the Dopplebeater Defence a record four times in the match, they cleared the path for seeker Odette MacFarlan to make a once-in-a-lifetime (maybe?!) completely vertical catch that stretched nearly one-hundred feet over stadium! Perhaps she reached Empire State Building heights? They're still trying to figure it out!

Scotland's got something to prove, and they're not backing down from anyone!

FINAL SCORE:

340 - 200
