Account Renaming - FREE For the Next 7 Days!!!

Hey everyone!!

We've been hard at work trying to get rename tokens working. We think we've finally got it, so that's why we're giving you the chance to rename your Scribbld username. There are some things you should consider when renaming though:

You can rename to:
• An unregistered username.
• The username of a deleted and purged journal.
• The username of an account you own, as long as the email addresses and passwords match.

That said visit the renaming page and have at it!! We've also finally purged deleted accounts, so those user names are available too!!

After the 7 days, we'll be charging $10 for a rename token. We're still working to get the actual token bit working, so enjoy the free "token" while it lasts!!

UPDATE: It looks like if you're an Early Adopter and you rename to a new username you stay as an early adopter, so it looks like you keep whatever account type you're on regardless of the type the account name has that you're renaming too.

Example:

You are an Early Adopter and rename to a new account. You keep your Early Adopter account.
You are an Early Adopter and rename to an Early Free User account name. You stay as an Early Adopter.
You are an Early Free User and rename to an Early Account name. You stay as an Early Free user.

Really this is just account renaming, not account typing changing.

Ooooh this is exciting!!

And I have a question! Would changing your journal name to say, a purged account that used to be an Early adopter, would you get those same benefits?

I'm thinking no, but I figured it'd be safe to ask haha

Great question, I'm pretty sure it's ONLY a name change for for example if you're an early adopter and your renaming to a Early Free User, you stay as an Early Adopter, but I guess that's what testing is all about...you'll have to let me know hahaha

If you get a name from a deleted and purged journal, do you get the account type too?

Say I have a New User Account and I rename to one that was an Early Adopter, do the perks transfer? And same question, in reverse - do you lose the perks?

Same question as above...and my answer is to try it out haha. I didn't think about that, so I'm honestly not sure...As I said above...I think if you're an EA user and you rename to an Early Free User, you stay as an EA account...and if you're an Early Free User and you rename to an Early Adopter name, you stay as a Early Free User....but I could completely wrong, only testing it out shall tell!

I submitted a support ticket because I think I messed up, Jimmy. I changed the name on an account of mine, to move the name to another account status[ thus renaming both] and it didn't work. its request #193 here http://www.scribbld.net/support/see_request.bml?id=193& , I'll wait for a support team member, I just didn't want to miss the rename.
