[DOWNTIME] Rescheduled Database Server Maintenance

We'll be rescheduling the maintenance for the main database server to start at 8pm Friday evening (February 6th, 2009) until 8am the following morning (Saturday the 7th). During this time all of Scribbld will be offline.

Update - 8PM: We're currently in the process of rebuilding a RAID set on the main database server. During this time you may notice some server time outs, slower then normal loading times or other random odd things, don't fret, we just recommend refreshing the page and it should come up as normal! We're trying very hard to keep the site online, but please bear with us for the next 12-14 hours. We appreciate it!

Update - 9AM: The RAID has completed it's rebuild. I do not think we had much if any downtime which is excellent!

Aww... is there a reason we're doing it on the weekend and most of importantly, Friday? Most of the popular communities on Scribbld are based about Friday (flame/honor communities, icontests, etc). :(

The warning is great, but on what I feel is the most popular day for the site is sort of nerve wracking lol.

The reason is that we've been a month without a proper backup system. This needs to happen and it's going to happen now as suck as it may be, I personally would rather have a setup backup system then a degraded one :) Trust me, it's for the best.
