This time he does not hesitate in kissing her back, since she initiated it, and is clearly supremely comfortable with him for reasons he's not quite clear on. The age obviously helps, and treating her like a geisha instead of a prostitute probably didn't hurt. Still, he's surprised... but almost overwhelmingly pleasantly so.
He's not the best kisser - ages out of practice, but not completely inexperienced either, and still taking this slowly, appreciating the sensual nature of the kiss amidst the warm water and her touch, pressing lightly back against her.
