It wasn't that she was uncomfortable; it was that the steam was destroying her makeup and her hair. Not wanting to ruin his experience by her hair sagging and her makeup melting, Kikuya left the room and undid her hair, brushing it carefully before letting it fall over her shoulders and washing her face free of makeup. It was not quite traditional--and she worried it might be inappropriate--but it was what would work best.
Clean, she returned to the bath and carried the tray of supplies with her that she sat by the water's edge before lifting her kimono carefully and stepping into the water behind him.
"How does the water feel, Hajime-sama?" She picked up a sponge and carefully began to draw water up and onto his shoulders.
