He had nothing else of value. He agreed without convincing, Sasuke. I gave him one option and he took it without a struggle. I don't like loans, too hard to keep track of. It was better that it was all over with in one night, the money in his hand the next day.
If Itachi had a problem with it, he was justified on all grounds to deny it.
