[001] First Day Bliss. Only not.
((ooc:This is take 2 on this, since Scribbld ATE my first one, the bitch.))

While I doubt many people will read this, I suppose I should comply with company policy and update it. I'm really not too certain what to say, honestly. I've kept a paper journal since I was a kid, but it's kinda different when other people are supposed to read what you write, I guess. Ah well, introductions should work well enough for now.

I'm Minato Namikaze and I've just started in the Setting and Props department. I'll be working hard to make sure your scenes aren't the generic crap you usually see in porn, but something to add to the...visual experience, I suppose. If you have anything constructive to add about previous sets I'm all ears. Actors, directors, camerapeople, and editors alike, really. Do some props just get in the way? Are some angles made difficult to capture because of the setup but it can't be moved around without disrupting the scene? Extra or less lighting needed? Poorly placed reflective surfaces that either reflect the wrong thing(such as...the crew) or cause glare on the actors, either of which would need to be edited out? Drop me a line and I'll see what I can do to not repeat past mistakes.

Right, so, I'd love to say I had a wonderful first day and my coworkers are such lovely people. However, I hate liars and I'm rather fond of myself, so I'd hate to have any conflict there. Let's just say Murphy's Law had a field day with me today when it came to directions and props. I am so glad to be home and not afraid of getting hit with a used condom anymore you have no idea. And really, checking my ID that many times was far from necessary. I know for a fact that I no longer look like frickin' jailbait. I've come to terms with the fact that I will likely never look my age, but honestly guys. I'm almost certain it was an attempt to simply annoy me. I at least look as old as the rest of you, though I recall being far more mature at your age than you are being. Alas, I will still have my revenge.

Have fun with eye-blinding yellow. ♥ And my apologies to those who were not involved...though I think I rather like this color.

There was one upside to my day, though. Saw this one guy in a business suit walking down the hall near the end of lunch. Didn't get a chance to see the front of him since he walked by so quickly, but I was quite content to continue looking at the back of him as he walked away. Well, until I fell off the wall and onto someone else. Sorry again, miss, if you're reading. I was going to try chasing him down to have a chat, but sadly he was gone by the time I got back up. While I guess most people would look to the actors for eye-candy, but I guess I'm a little more old-fashioned. Plus, the fact that he was wearing a nice suit means he's likely closer to my age than the majority of the people I've met while working on the second floor, which is a definite plus. So thank you, Mr. Business Suit, for being a bright moment in my day.

Hmm. Being rather new in town I'd normally ask what restaurants around here are good, but anybody who's kept reading to this point would probably recommend me poison in revenge for the death of their retinas. Luckily I have a strong stomach. ♥

[Private to Self]

No sign of Naruto today. ...Though that could be a good thing, given how my day was. I've heard a few stories, though. Not sure how much to believe or not just yet, but I'll keep it stored anyway. Maybe I'll see him at some point tomorrow.

...I still have no idea what I'm going to do. Which terrifies me.

Minato Namikaze, it's nice to meet you. I'm Tobirama, and... somewhat work under similar conditions. Though I'm exclusively with one prop. We will likely run into each other, at some point. If I have time to assist you, I will, though if I don't will I also end up a bright shade of yellow?

He has no idea Tobi = Senju Izuna hates. |D

Nice to meet you as well. :) What prop would that be, if I might ask?

Well, I didn't plan on actually making anyone themselves yellow. ...Though it's not a bad idea if I ever find someone asleep on the job. There is lots of paint. ♥

Gemini.

I'll be watching out for you, definitely.

...Isn't that the, er, sexbot...thing?

Only need to if you slack. If so, then sleep with one eye open. ♥

Short answer is yes. I was on her development team. I supervise her use and ensure proper protocol is followed.

Or sleep behind a locked door?

Well, it's an interesting concept. ...Though I'll be honest and say I'd probably laugh if I ever saw such a thing. But hey, to each their own, y'know?

If you think it will protect you. I'm sure the props manager has the key. ...You do realize I'm now half-determined to save this idea to inflict on you instead of one of my hapless coworkers, right?

Most people would laugh. It's actually a very serious business endeavor with a large amount of investments riding on the idea of creating a perfect robotic companion for lonely hearts everywhere.

I didn't even do anything to you. You're ruthless.

...Can't argue with you there. I hope it works out very well, then. :)

Aww, I'm really not. Unless we have to work together and I find you sleeping on the job. ♥ But otherwise I have no reason to hunt you down. I just don't appreciate slacking, especially if it makes my duties less efficient.

That would be the ideal. You like emoticons?

And if my slacking does nothing at all to interfere with your duties?

...Er, apparently so. I hate the emotionless feeling of text. So...I guess I try to get my point across that way. It seems to help a little when I'm attempting sarcasm via text.

...Then I wouldn't know. So I suppose you'd be safe!

I'm not so sure about conveying proper emotions, but... whatever you think works. I guess I never understood the whole emoticon/lol thing.

I don't have time to nap anyway. I was just giving you the hypothetical run around.

Ah well, I try. I'm not certain it's worked so well thus far, but hey. ...I've never understood the "lol" and chatspeak thing. People speak poorly enough as it is without purposefully spelling things incorrectly.

Ah, well. I'll just have to save my pranks for my other coworkers.

I suppose it never hurts to try. And I have to Google most of these terms, they pop up too frequently to keep up with.

You're fond of pranks I take it?

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Exactly. I used to just get the rookies new kids at my old job to explain them if I couldn't figure it out. ...Google is a good idea if I can't find anyone here who is savvy about such things.

I rather do. I find it's a much healthier outlet than getting mad or attempting some form of serious revenge. I usually try to get people back in ways that will make them laugh at themselves as well, so there's no hard feelings.

See use Urban Dictionary and you can catch the ref within minutes instead of looking like an old man and asking what it means.

That's a good way to do it. People could stand to laugh more at themselves, might be a good solution to stress.
