It's pretty obviously the mouth.) Includes a whopping 46 icons with glasses from 2x05 "Adam", because PBs with glasses are in such short supply that people will cast any and every white male with glasses as James Potter. If anyone does that with Gorman I will laugh and laugh, but do what you want.

Yeah, I am doing A Thing with mucking with colours. How could I do Feist and not do Emily? I couldn't, that's how. "Doctor Blind" is also the unofficial theme song of practically everything paperwhites and I are doing lately. I serendipitously found it in the Zunior easter-egg mix, although I have no excuse for not having heard it well before then. (In my pathetic defense, I had Metric confused with Controller.Controller, concerning whom my feelings are "meh.") Anyhow, Emily is hot, the end.

Because the 11th anniversary of his death is on the 29th, and also because my icon-hunting mojo failed me when I looked for icon sets in the RP-iconiverse. The brushed-and-filtered-to-hell ones from LJ sources do not suit.

Request by Chels, Swedish actress Lena Olin. Who has been in a lot of bad movies like Queen of the Damned, but she is still a hot Lady of a Certain Age.

Feist is all famous now! As in, Americans know about her and she has an iPod commercial! I remember when she and Emily Haines and Amy Millan were all just duking it out for "hottest chick in Broken Social Scene" in the minds of indie boys who thought they were feminist. I am SO OLD, man.

I thought I'd posted these before, since I've been using her for awhile, but it seems I did not.

Sarah Slean opened for someone else a couple of years ago and I missed it--I no longer remember who the main act was, either, although I remember it was at Elixir in Kingston. I think. Or the Grad Club. It might have been the Rheos since fans are chatty at those shows. Anyhow, youtube for your and my sampling.

She's interesting to icon since she can look completely different from one shot to the next, but she always has that very sleek delicate quality. She starred in the bad movie that Martin Tielli was in, as I mentioned in his post.

Like Robyn Hitchcock, Martin Tielli is one of my obscure-musician PBs who is difficult to icon. I put mine up not because they're that great (they're not) but because nobody else is going to do him. You want a unique PB? Here you go.

I've seen Martin live a number of times with the Rheostatics, and unfortunately photos don't capture it--spacey, cute Italo-Canadian with a strong Toronto accent, a weird pre-war-looking wardrobe, a shy reticence talking to strangers and a bizarre energy performing to them. He paints (Thumbelina illustration; old thumbnails found on Google). He was in a pretty bad Canadian movie, although they're all pretty bad, but he was interesting to watch as always. He has yet to complete a project that fans paid for four years ago, and his apology is worth reading on its own for the weird writing and punctuation. He's starting to look a lot like Andy Kaufman as he gets older. All this means I fangirl him quite a lot.

I am, very likely, the only person in RPdom who is PBing Robyn Hitchcock. But you--yes, you--could be the second, or even the third. He is not a pretty PB. Robyn's sex appeal is pretty debatable, but if he is sexy at all, most would agree that it's in an ugly way. When he was younger he had buck teeth, a unibrow, and hair that looked like a lawnmower cut it. In his later years, well, he is old. Some of his photos are actively frightening.

Iconnable non-concert photos of him are hard to come by, so at 29 I feel very accomplished. There's quite an age range, which works for me but might not for you. No money returned.

As for his music, he is some kind of weird squirrelly English genius, which is why I use him for cut tags and titles and such on this journal. Have a listen ("Sometimes I Wish I Was a Pretty Girl). You're in or you're out after that, but if you have some time and want to hear his eerie vocal resemblance to Lennon, here's more. Track 5, "The President", in particular is fantastic.

I thought I'd already posted these, but evidently not. Everyone in the world has iconned Rachel McAdams but I like her in Slings & Arrows particularly. So there.

I love her face and her voice and pretty much everything about her. Everybody should watch this video which is hypnotic, goofy, and very feminist all at once. If you have already seen it, watch it again. It's good for you.

Joel Plaskett is a pretty dude, and in person he's even prettier than these photos suggest. Wholesome happy-guy pretty, big charming smile. Photographers, however, seem to all think he should do Blue Steel(tm) when they take his picture, and poor naive Joel just does it for them.

Spanning from Wet Hot American Summer to the Veronica Mars guest spot. I included the ones from The Château because Paul is adorably schlubby there and there aren't enough PBs with glasses available, but there wasn't much I could do with the screencaps--the film is just shot way low-rent, and it looks bad even on the DVD. Not that I don't love it ("par ce que il est noir et adopté").

Another small batch, but she's so pretty that I feel no guilt. I know C has already decided on an Emily Dickinson PB but I'm just sayin Joanna Newsom could be good for that sort of distant unearthly character.

I don't know why there aren't more icons of him, but there don't seem to be. (Correct me if I'm wrong, I'd love more.) I was all set to give up on using him for a PB, but I found screencaps so all was well.

Geoffrey Tennant is basically Gregory House only with theatre instead of medicine. And with hallucinations instead of a bum leg. Think about it. Anyhow, icons of Fraser in his red serge are of even more limited RPG utility than Brutus icons, but everyone can use a wild-eyed dishevelled madman in their game.

"Claire. Claire Claire Claire. Claire with the hair." Grdevich plays a ridiculous bitch in Slings and Arrows but I have a crush on her hair and facial expressions so she got iconned. IS SHE NOT ADORABLE Y/Y. I could have gone on and done her appearances from the rest of the season but I got tired of capping. I may update this post in the future, though.

Tobias Menzies makes a lot of snarky faces. And he has big crooked teeth, which always makes me feel empowered as an orthodontically-challenged person. I'm sure the utility of these will be limited, but my rallying cry is "so what".

The notorious Keri Russell, self-hating corkscrew head. Fresh and innocent as a particularly incorruptible daisy, at least until the second season when she got tired of it. Then she made friends with a straightening iron and no one has cared about her since. Play to your strengths, Keri.

Sean, Sean, Sean. Cute guy, from the right angles. Got the Harry Potter cred. And yet finding icons of him is a task and a half. Many of these were made from low-quality caps of Cashback, a short film in which Sean has approximately three expressions. I did my best with them and will add more in the future.
