PERSONALITY: Zacharias is arrogant. He had been taught his entire life that he was better than everyone else was. He was richer, smarter, funnier, more handsome and wittier than everyone. He is spoiled and petty, if he wants something, he will get it without a single question. It is not uncommon of him to throw a temper tantrum if he doesn’t get something he wants. If he wants a pony, he will get a pony, and had four of them before he found one he liked. He hates it when people question his choices, and will argue with anyone and anything that disagrees with him, regardless of who they are. This often gets him into trouble at school, as he would argue with the teachers over every little detail.
He will stop at nothing to get what he wants, and he only cares about himself and how he looks, spending hours at a time in front of a mirror. He is narcissistic and vain, being a general pain in the arse if he looks anything less than perfect. If one thing can be said about Zacharias, it is that he is always honest. He will say what is on his mind no matter what the cost is. If he thinks someone’s clothes are odd looking, he will tell them, if they are having a bad hair day, he will tell them. He doesn’t mean for it to be rude, he just wants to let them know.
HISTORY: Family: Roman Pritchard was a quiet man, very much not wanting to get in the way of everyone. The fifth son of his family, no one really cared about him and so in response he didn’t care about them. However, this changed when he met April Smith, a Hufflepuff two years above him. They met at one of the pureblood only parties that his parents liked to throw instead of doing something useful with their money. April is the complete opposite of Roman; she was highly intelligent, vain, arrogant, spoiled, resourceful and the most beautiful girl Roman had ever seen.
At first April refused Roman’s advances until he began to change slightly, showing a little more backbone and began to banter with her until she eventually agreed to one date. During that date Roman managed to charm a second date out of April, followed by a third and a fourth, until two months after they met they declared it official. Throughout this, April made aspirations against Roman’s character, and wanting to please her tried to show more and more effort. A year later they were engaged, and two years after that they were married. Roman was twenty, and April was twenty two. Since Roman was the fifth son, and April an only daughter (and the heir of Hufflepuff) after a long argument he decided to take her last name so they could continue the family line.
Pre-Hogwarts: Zacharias Roman was born on the fifth of December, 1979. His mother April had always wanted a child and a heir to the family and so from the moment he was brought screaming into the world he was doted on a spoiled. His father wanted children, but was enamoured by April and so when she said jump, he jumped and if she didn’t want his influence on her son, then that was fine by him. His mother took him under her wing from the start, teaching him all the important things in life, how to act, who to make friends with and so on.
Zacharias was sent to an incredibly expensive private primary school when he was four. He made friends easily with a combination of his mother’s ‘friendly’ nature and arrogance. It was soon apparent that he was a leader, and he was tenacious. He would stay on one topic, or one idea until he managed to get the answer he wanted, and he almost never took no for an answer. He was bright, showing talent in a lot of areas, but he was also lazy.
When he was eight his father gave him a toy broom so that he could learn how to fly. His father had been a member of the Quidditch team as a chaser, and as such wanted his son to be a chaser, or at least a member of the team. He practiced on the broom every day after school, trying to hone his skills as best as he could in any of the positions. Quidditch soon became his passion.
When he was ten he took his first bad tumble from the broom, falling almost twenty feet after completing the Wronski Feint. He landed, his ulna breaking and piercing his skin. His mother found him and after a hysterical break down that brought his father running he was bundled off to Mungo’s where he was patched up with nothing more than a slight scar on his right arm.
Hogwarts: Zacharias was sorted into Hufflepuff after a few moments of debate. It wasn’t long before he had made friends with most of the people in his year, even though perhaps he didn’t look on them as people he should be friend with. He just liked most of them for some reason or another. During his second year he tried out for both chaser and seeker, wanting whichever one he could get. There were no positions open for chaser, but he managed to gain the position of seeker. He did well, working hard, almost to the point of obsession getting up early in the mornings to go for a run so he could keep his weight down. He didn’t pay much attention towards his grades, not finding them important in comparison to Quidditch.
His third year was a disappointment because Quidditch had been canceled and he couldn’t believe it. His father thought it was a good thing because he was about to be kicked off the team from letting his marks slip due to spending more time on Quidditch and almost none on homework. After he was threatened with his removal from the Quidditch team when and if it would start back up, he worked hard, bringing his grades back up. He worked out a timetable, allowing him to balance school and Quidditch enough so he was able to continue Quidditch, eventually.
In his fourth year he has his first girlfriend, whom he dated for a few months before they broke up. After her he became sort of a ladies man, charming different girls, and in his fifth years he began to charm boys as well. Although he would flitter from girlfriend to girlfriend, he tried his best not to hurt anyone’s feelings, and made sure to stay with one at one time, with a few weeks between each.
Fifth year he joined Dumbledore’s Army, just for kicks – not really wanting to do anything. He scoffed about it, and pissed of a lot of people, but he also did learn some things which helped him when he decided to pick on other people for the hell of it. When the events of fifth year passed he wanted to know more. Being the nosey bugger he was he pestered Ginny until she hexed him, and after that left her alone.
He stayed out of the war that was raging around him, not wanting to deal with anything. Quidditch was also canceled this year so he had very little to do. He actually worried about his grades and made sure to annoy as many people that he didn’t like as possible. Since he was a pureblood if he left other people alone, then they left him alone and that was fine by him.
