Character Name: Karen Lynch, mostly people just call her by her last name

Physical description (face, build, weight): 5 feet on the dot, asking about her weight will like get you shot(130lbs all muscle). Karen is the tom boy that never grew out of it and will not wear dresses or skirts unless absolutely necessary when on duty she typically wears a pant suit. When she goes into big fights she likes to wear a swat suit with Kevlar. Karen also wears as little makeup as possible simply because she doesn’t care to put the effort into doing it. She has blonde hair and blue eyes and looks kind of like a cheerleader not that anyone would ever say that to her face.

Abilities:
Strong Willed- While she has no formal training in mental defense, mind controlling and read power are harder to use on her than expected
Trained fighter- Aikido Black Belt and has been training in Akimbo since she was four years old, skilled enough to have beaten all the guys on the police force who have ever been stupid enough to challenge her and can easily bring a guy to the ground with a simple finger or wrist lock, skilled with a nightstick and was able to take down a rampage troll with one, While she does not use it often she is highly skilled in staff combat, she is also a very creative fighter who can adapt to any situation but also knows when she is out classed and needs to make a tactical retreat Highly Skilled Marksman- Karen has won many championships for her marksmanship, typically uses her police issued pistol but can use other guns with almost as good proficiency and makes her own ammo and has made special rounds to deal with supernatural threats Police Detective- Karen is the best police detective in the city even if she doesn’t get the credit she deserves for it, she as a lot of connections and utilizes them to their fullest. Expert driver- Karen is a highly skilled driver of both cars and motorcycles and has had combat training with them
Weaknesses and flaws: She is a perfectly normal ordinary human for better or for worse. However when view with magic sight she appears as an avenging angel. She is not extremely knowledgeable about the supernatural but does pick up on it very quickly. She has faced vampires, werewolves, fairies and a couple other strange things while she has learned how to hurt most of them she doesn’t know much more than that about them.

Backstory: Born to Conner and Mary Lynch, Karen came from a family of Irish Catholic cops and firemen and while her mother was very much against it Karen always wanted to be a cop something that her father encouraged in her. Growing up Karen was always a tomboy and preferred to hang out with the guys rather than girls something. Compared to her sister Karen was treated much harsher by her mom and she had to sneak out of her bedroom window to go to her own prom. Things got worse between Karen and her mother when her father committed suicide when Karen was 11. He was a black cat investigator for the police who specialized in weird cases much like Karen would later not that she knew about that. However he saw something on the job that scared him so much that he shot himself rather than deal with it.
After graduating High school Karen married her high school sweetheart, James Caraway, but they seemed to do more fighting than anything else and were divorced within a year when he walked out on her. This left more emotional scars than she lets on as she really loved him. After graduating from the police academy with honors where as a beat cop she would soon meet to important men in her life a fellow cop Alex Borges who she would later marry only to then have to divorce him as he wanted he to be a house wife something that she could not be. The other person that she met was Matt Walker and through this experience gave her her first taste of the supernatural which involved her taking down a troll with a nightstick. Her continuous run-ins with the supernatural and unwillingness to back down about it got he landed in the Special Investigations Unit which specifically deals with such cases. The Special Investigation Unit is typically a career death sentence as most of the people assigned to it are “inconvenient” cops who’ve ticked off someone in authority which Lynch did by not backing down about the supernatural. Lynch has been hiring Matt to do work for her department and even pays for his help out of her own pocket when the funds for private contractors dries up which happens quickly given how underfunded the unit is.
How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: Doing some work with Walker as the person for the NYPD who regularly hires him.
What are you planning to do with this character? Show a pure mortal character fighting the supernatural while trying to balance her job on top of that.
What do you want to see happen with this character?: Have her join up with a sons of midnight team based in Chicago and kick some supernatural ass. I also think it would be neat for her to attempt to find out why her father killed himself.
