[Open Log] Christmas Festival! (..Again)
((OOC: Okay guys... apparently scribbld suspended the mod journals and community journals for the City, Didgey and I think it’s because of some sort of auto-security feature since they were dormant for so long because it happened right after Didgey logged into the mod journal for the first time in awhile, so we contacted the Scribbld mods but since it’s a fucking old journal who knows how long it will take for them to get back to us so I’m just gonna move the Christmas Fest thing to my own journal for now until we get it resolved or move to a new journal system ... idk right now)).

Every year, once a year around Christmastime, the City hosted its annual Christmas Festival. It was mostly an excuse for the government to attempt to better its image with the dark-hairs by fully funding a dinner for all citizens to attend and enjoy -- from the richest blonde to the poorest dirt-hair -- and a Christmas tree lighting ceremony, among smaller things like gaming booths and vendor stalls for those searching for Christmas gifts. Of course, the latter was mostly aimed towards the blondes, since dark-hairs hardly ever had the means for a real Christmas or trading gifts, but free food definitely brought the dark-hairs out in droves, and Sasuke wasn't one to miss out on a hot meal.

He hated winter, and although it had been mild for the past month, the cold was finally showing itself with its usual ferocity. Bundled up in his thickest coat (moth-eaten as it was), black jeans and boots he normally reserved for his escort encounters, he also had a knitted blue scarf, gloves, and a knitted black hat. Underneath all of that were as many layers of t-shirts and sweaters as he could stand. He was unsurprised that the snow had erupted all at once, and although it wasn't snowing today, there was already a semi-thick blanket on the ground that had been lying around for some time now.

His heavy boots crunched through the snow as he made his way to Second District, which was always used for festivities, the few and far between that hosted all citizens. The sun was out, but it seemed weak today, and everything was coated in a misty haze that spoke of winter, making him scrunch up further into his coat, hoping to make it in time to get the food while it was hot. It was always a crowd during the Christmas Festival, since it was the only time of year many of the dark-hairs got to savor fresh food -- food that many of them never saw on their own plates at home.

Trickling in behind a group of scraggly dirt-hairs, Sasuke looked around for the ticket booth, trotting over to show his ID to be marked and grab his ticket to get in line for the buffet. Free or not, everyone only got one meal, and there was no seconds allowed.

If anyone wished they could celebrate Christmas like a blonde, it would be Hashirama, not for him but for the children he looked after. Being able to give them a gift that they would love and cherish and appreciate (unlike these blondes, pfft), how it made his heart flutter with happiness just to think about it. Just one day of happiness from their regular hell, well free food was just about as good as they were going to get.

That spark of happiness came back as he watched them all one by one getting their food ticket, hearing them all talk about what they were going to get. "Don't eat it too fast or you will get sick, remember that." Aww they are adorable but remembers his first Christmas meal, he couldn't get it down fast enough and threw it all back up.

Once all the children were settled down, the older ones taking care of the smaller ones, Hashirama could finally head for his own, back in line again, waiting for his ticket, still unable to stop himself from looking over at the few orphans he had in his care and smiling at how happy they all were.

Christmas in the Second District was actually pretty pleasant and focused on spending time close to your family and loved ones. And buying a special gift for your children... well, that part always made Mei a little bitter. She wanted kids. And badly. But her husband picker was beyond broken, it was just obliterated. She'd had many relationships but her type in men was always questionable, and more often than not it ended in some sort of trouble. There's just something about a dangerous man. So sexy!

This was the time of year she always really felt her biological clock ticking away. She wanted her own little rugrats to tote around, so the group of children laughing and eating caught her attention. Looking at their happy faces she sighed wistfully... then grimaced. Did all of those children come from one woman? Ouch. Maybe just one or two children would be plenty. Ten is way too far.

Watching the kids she noticed one of the smaller girls getting picked on by the older boys. It's pretty common for boys to roughhouse like that, but when she saw them nabbing food off the girl's plate she couldn't stand idly by anymore. Girls need to stand up for themselves, right? And in her head, it was a great idea for a test of motherhood. Having a son and a daughter would be ideal, so she thought it would be best to test her skills at breaking up tiffs. "Hey, you!" She pointed at the older boys. "I know you're having fun and all, but can't you see how rude you're being? You have your own meals, leave hers alone." She felt that was excellent, triumphant... until the girl just started sobbing.

"Oh... crap. Little girl, hey, I'm--... what the heck? I just did you a favor." This was panic mode now, what if her parents came over and were furious? How do you explain off making a kid cry? "Shh, shh. Hey, do you want some lipstick? I have lipstick. Want to wear it?" Woman to woman, lipstick should always work. Mei could only hope those parents didn't come over here now while she was putting red lipstick on a crying little girl.

Just a stones throw away from some delicious food and then the well trained ears detected the sounds of crying, stopped and turned towards the children. Daddy instinct, not connected to any of them by blood but he can certain pick up tears. Sees the boy fleeing and the little girl and someone else... what the hell is going on? Food will come later, sweet food goodbye. Don't you be gone by the time he gets back.

Without thinking too hard about it, Hashirama pushed through the crowd to get back to his kids, not even thinking further when he grabbed what he saw was a threat against his children by the shoulder and roughly pushing her to the side, not even taking a second look back at who or what it was, kneeling in front of the little girl. "Sweetie, are you okay? What ha-..." There was no tears now, only soft sobbing, soft sobbing and smeared red down her cheek from her lips. Well this certainly was strange.

Putting his finger against her cheek, he touched the stuff, noting straight away that it was not blood and that it was sort of sticky. Licking his thumbs, Hashirama proceeded to rub the smudge to see if it cleaned off, giving it a sniff when some of it is on his thumb. Whatever it was, it didn't seem threatening, in fact, she seemed almost happy to have it on.

... So who did he...? Hashirama winced in the horror that he had picked up and thrown a blonde away. Not that he would have expected a blonde to come near a dirt-hair at all but stranger things have happened during these events. Please don't be blonde, please don't be blonde.

It seemed to be working, the crying stopped and it was down to a small sniffle. "There, see? Lipstick always makes pretty girls feel better. I have some--" Of all the things she expected to happen, suddenly being shoved aside was not one of them. She yelped in surprise and fell back onto the ground, only staying down for a few seconds before she swiftly sat up again. "Just who do you think you are, asshole!" She spat, but went quiet when she saw the gentle nature he touched the girl in. So this man must be the father...

And what a man he was. Mei's anger quickly dissipated when Hashirama finally turned to look at her and she fell smitten with that chiseled jaw. She had to stop herself from giving goo-goo eyes immediately and needed to remember this guy just pushed her. And that if he had this many kids, he was probably happily married. Or crazy.

" ... You could cut steel on that jaw of yours, damn." Okay well, that wasn't the lecture she wanted to give.

"..." Not a blonde that he could be extremely thankful for knowing this event would not even stop him from being put to death for "violently" reacting against a blonde but... she was even stranger. "Excuse me?" he asked with a quirk of his eyebrow. What does that even mean?

"Oh, and look at those deep eyes of yours..." Realizing she blurted that out, Mei rose to her feet and cleared her throat, looking embarrassed. "Are you the father?"

Another quirk of his eyebrow curiously at her, not knowing what she is trying to hit at and why or what. Very odd indeed. "No, no I am not their father but they are my children," he replied full of pride in who he was. None of them were his biological children but that didn't mean that they weren't his. "What did you do to her?" This time he was sterner, demanding answers for what that stuff is. It could be poison, it could be anything. Answers before anything else.

"Oh... adopted?" She could admire that pride. But needed to stop admiring! "Oh ... one of the boys was picking off her plate and she seemed upset, but I think trying to defend her startled her. I love children, I promise I didn't do it on purpose. I thought putting on some makeup would perk her up. Lipstick, that's all it was. Can I... fix the smudge? Is that alright?"

"Not quite but I guess you could say that." No one would ever adopt them unless they were going to do something terrible with them because most people couldn't afford to feed themselves, let alone another mouth and if he did adopt them, the funding would be removed and they wouldn't eat at all. "... Sure. By all means."

Humbled, Hashirama took at step to the side and knelt down and watched her, making sure that nothing funny happened. No offense but you tend to stay on your toes at all times. "I'm sorry for pushing you, I thought she was hurt and I just wanted to protect her." Somewhere through the watching her adjust the smudge on her cheek, the man's eyes happened to wander and check out the woman a bit better, now not so panicked, he could take the time to admire her. Whoa, someone has a rack and a half on her. I-It has been forever since he has seen boobs so they are almost hypnotizing. Must not start for too long, conversation will tear eyes away... "My name is Hashirama, I hope that isn't too forward." Phew, just don't look back down.

Mei kneeled down to lick her thumb and fix the lipstick smudge that occurred when she was pushed. Just a few little touch ups, and someone looked like a pretty princess. "There you go. Every girl deserves to wear something that makes her feel beautiful. Me? I like perfume... haven't been able to afford it in years, but I love it. My mother had a bottle of it when I was growing up, I used to love to sneak into her room and wear it. Got scolded every time, but definitely worth it."

When you're blessed with certain... endowments, you get used to men staring. Mei had an excellent sense on when a man was looking at her breasts. She knew because it was always. Men always looked. "Hashirama? That's a nice name." She straightened up and put the lipstick back into her pocket. She extended a hand to him for a handshake. "My name is Mei." And you have very strong hands. "So if they're not adopted, how'd you come across so many kids? You're ... you're not trafficking are you?" The hot ones always have a catch, she knew that well. And she really hoped that wasn't the case, it would be a shame to have to scream for the police on such a nice afternoon.

Turns to the girl and has a look at her after being all cleaned up, giving her a smile to let her know it looks good and a kiss on the cheek, whispering to her that she can go back to eating. He could hear that tummy rumble, you can't hide it. "Mei, what a beautiful name." Shakes and smiles. "And I would never do such a thing. Do I look like a trafficker? I run an orphanage, all of these children have lost their parents and were lucky enough to survive." Gives the little girl a hair ruffle and steps away from them for some adult talking time. Adult company, its been a while, he might be a bit rusty. "That stuff, lipstick was what you called it? Why should a girl wear it?" he asked with genuine interest. Should he be finding this stuff for his girls?
