Who cuts open their foot on an oyster shell while surfing? And then who hobbles into work late with it still bleeding, and is forced by their boss to go to the hospital and get it checked out? Me, that's who. So not wik.

It was a tiny gash, and I only got four stitches out of it all. Maybe that makes it not so tiny... I also am not supposed to give surf lessons until I get the stitches out. Major bummer.

Damn those oysters, out to get you in some sort of evil foot cutting conspiracy. Are you feeling any better, jaan?

I know right? I wouldn't be surprised if 'qi' was in on it too.

I've got a bunch of John Cusack films, some Cheese Nips and a bottle of aspirin, so I'm not doing too bad...

The evil 'qi'. We should have known.

That's not a bad set up. Want me to come by after work? I promise junk food and lots of sympathy.

That bastard.

I think that that sounds like the best idea I've heard in at least three years. And they don't call me Savannah the Junk Food Eatin' Savant for nothing, nor do they actually call me that... yep.

Do I even get sympathy when I hobble back and forth from the couch to the DVD player to put in a new movie? Or do I get laughed at?

I'm all about the good ideas.

A little bit of both? But it will be sympathetic laughter.

And what good ideas they are, Mr. Lahiri.

I can deal with sympathetic laughter, but then you might have to make it up to me. I'm sorry, but them's the rules.

-sigh- If I have to. Can't go breaking the rules.

That just wouldn't be polite.

How do you feel about mixing in Vietnamese food with the junk food?

I think I could pull that off. And I've heard good things about the medicinal qualities of spring rolls and pho...

Every time I go into that one Vietnamese restaurant we order from, the older woman always tells me she's going to put extra tendon into my pho, because supposedly I look peakish. At least I think that's what she's saying...

So here's to hoping it works for cut feet too. And by the way, you're the best.

I believe the instructions were to stay out of the ocean altogether until you get the stitches out of that tiny gash, Miss Brodsky. Definitely a bummer, I know. Sorry, doctor's orders.

Right. How could I forget that part?

Not that I would actually go against doctor's orders, but what's the worst that could happen if someone with four stitches in their tiny gash did go in the ocean before said stitches were taken out?

You could get eaten by a shark.

Actually, the cut could get infected or the stitches could come out and then you'd have to get them again. Not that it wouldn't' be lovely to see you again, but a visit to the hospital probably isn't your idea of a good time.

If you decide to ignore this... just keep it as clean and dry as possible. But I didn't say that.

Not to come off as rude, but it's the ocean. You could get eaten by a shark at any time...

Oh. Okay. And not that it wouldn't be grand to spend another hour with you, and talk about our significant others while you stitch up my foot, but I'm going to have to agree with you there.

Duly noted. ;)

How the hell did you manage to hobble through sand with a busted foot?

It was like the shark attack scene from The Beach. Blood everywhere. But with less chomped up Swedish guys...

...your 4 measly stitches says otherwise.

And again I ask:

How the hell did you manage to hobble through sand with a busted foot?

If only I were Swedish. Sigh...

And, uhm, I kind of just walked on the side of my foot until I could get to my flip flops? And then I realized that flip flops made it worse, and continued to walk on the side of my foot?

Hm. We should get some.

Yeah? I didn't think the cut was that bad. I mean, it didn't look that bad, and I was already running late for work.

Uhm, score one for Savy, with an assist by her wik manager, Ryvre?
