Alestorm 25. 10 Years 26. Ice Cube 27. The Nightwatchman 28. Stone Sour 29. TV On The Radio 30. Anti Flag
1. How did you get into 29 (TV On The Radio)? I read a review of their last album, Dear Science, on 411mania, and decided to check em out. They turned out to be amazing.
2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22 (Mogwai)? Oh god... I think it was... Mogwai Fear Satan. Someone showed me that song and I was hooked.
3. How many albums by 12 (God Is An Astronaut) do you own? Physically, none. But I have them all on my computer.
4. What is your favourite song by 5 (Daft Punk)? Hm... their live version of Technologic. Or Robot Rock
5. What is your favorite song by 15 (As I Lay Dying)? Either The Sound Of Truth or Reflection
6. Is there a song by 6 (Pagoda) that makes you happy? A few. Lesson Learned, Death to Birth, and Botus always put me in a good mood.
7. What is your favourite song by 10 (Ensiferum)? ONE MORE MAGIC POTION!!! That song is amazing. The lyrics are really funny, too.
8. What is a good memory you have involving 30 (Anti Flag)? First time I got drunk in college, we listened to the Underground Network album, because it was all we had on CD at the time.
9. Is there a song by 19 (Incubus) that makes you happy? Dig, for some reason. The lyrics are really personal to me. I love it.
10. How many times have you seen 23 (Lupe Fiasco) live? Once. He played a show at my school at the end of Freshman year. He was AWESOME. Even though the atmosphere was terrible. All the kids who think they're the shit because they listen to like, Biggie and 2Pac came, and they were trying to act like thugs inbetween songs, and Lupe did a moment of silence, since this was right after the Virginia Tech shootings, and these kids were yelling, and he looked up and was like "Shut the fuck up please. Just get out. I don't want you ruining something like this". It was really funny, just because of the way he handled the situation.
11. What is the first song you ever heard by 26 (Ice Cube)? My boss played me Robin Lench and Givin' Up The Nappy Dugout at work like, two years ago. At least, that's the first like, memorable stuff I heard by him.
12. What is your favourite album by 11 (The Doors)? L.A. Woman, hands down.
13. Who is your favourite member of 1 (Metallica)? Lars! He may be a dick sometimes, but he's one of the reasons I started playing drums. And Rob, just because of his crab walk LOL.
14. Have you ever seen 14 (The Mars Volta) live? No, sadly. I heard they put on an amazing live show.
15. What is a good memory involving 27 (The Nightwatchman)? None, yet. I've been listening to him alot at work lately. Something's bound to come up.
16. What is your favourite song by 16 (Darkest Hour)? Aequitas, Veritas. It's such a beautiful instrumental piece.
17. What is your favourite album by 18 (Rob Zombie)? I love Hellbilly Deluxe, because it's like... a horror movie in CD form, but I LOVE Educated Horses. I like the kind of retro feel to it.
18. What is your favorite song by 21 (Explosions In The Sky)? Hm... I'd have to go with Six Days at the Bottom of the Ocean. It's so beautiful and like... guh. I dunno.
19. What is the first song you ever heard by 25 (10 Years)? Wasteland, just because it was their first single, and it was before I got really into them.
20. What is your favourite album by 2 (Dethklok)? The Dethalbum. Sadly, that's my only option.
21. What is your favourite song by 3 (In Flames)? Damn that's tough. I think it's My Sweet Shadow.
22. What is your favourite song by 8 (Amon Amarth)? Cry of the Blackbirds!
23. How many times have you seen 17 (The Sound of Animals Fighting) live? NONE =(. They like, don't play live or something.
24. What is the worst song by 12 (God Is An Astronaut)? I don't think they have a bad song. Lol, seriously. All their shit is magnificent.
25. What was the first song you ever heard by 28 (Stone Sour)? Bother. That song hits me so hard every time I listen to it.
26. What is your favourite album by 7 (Aesop Rock)? Labor Days. I love the concept of the album and every song is GOLD. And right up there with it is the Daylight EP. Again, total fucking gold. Th man's a genius.

| | Kanye West - Love Lockdown | ] | It's been a really rough week, but it's also been pretty good. Monday and Tuesday, I was getting really bad migraines, which really sucked. I get them from time to time, and when I get them, they're always pretty much crippling. I can't get out of bed, much less even really open my eyes because light hurts like hell. I got some medication for it, and I'm going for an MRI next week to figure out what's wrong. I did get to miss two days of class, though, so I guess it wasn't all bad. Wednesday was a snow day, so I got to just relax and play some video games and watch some movies. Today, after class, I came home and passed out for a good 4 hours. It was pretty nice. I walked home, and damn near killed myself on the ice.
I should be in class right now, but didn't feel like leaving the house again. It's freezing, and I have some work to do for 411mania.com, so I figured I'd get it done instead of leaving again.
The Metallica show is Sunday. I still haven't met with Laura to see if we can be around each other without emotions or anything getting in the way. I dunno what to do =(. |

On another note, I'm really looking forward to the Friday the 13th remake. As much as I HATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEFUCKINGHATE Michael Bay, I think the director (who also did the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake) captured the tone of the movies (at least the first 4, before it got all retarded and like, sci-fi ish) perfectly. The guy playing Jason looks to have it down perfectly. The body movements, the imposing presence, and the... fuck I dunno what else. Regardless of it starring a bunch of typical teen actors (Calling them actors is a compliment. From the look of the cast, they couldn't act their way out of a fucking wet paper bag), the fact that they're all getting butchered makes that fact a little bit sweeter.
I still haven't seen many of the big movies of the year that I wanted to. The Wrestler is at the top of my list, followed by Milk. I've heard amazing things about The Visitor, and it's coming to Starz or Max or whatever pretty soon. I'm really looking forward to watching it. I've also been watching Funny Games alot lately, since it's been on one of those channels. That movie is so... guh. Amazing. One of the best of the year, by far. Michael Pitt sure knows how to play a creepy bastard. And the actors/actresses are a huge improvement over the original. The wife in the 1997 version was fucking hideous. She looked like a zombie. Not saying it matters who played her, because the German actress in the original did a great job, in terms of her performance, but just.... blegh. Especially considering there's a scene where they make the wife strip in order to save her son's life.
I'm done rambling. Going to bed soon. Friday tomorrow. Joy. Class, work, home, pass out, work all day Saturday. Fucking weekends. I also have a mass comm project I have to do, which I haven't been keeping up on. Oh well. I'll bullshit it Sunday. |
