Apart from making everyone fondue, Mel fixed a special batch of her best almond meringues and a pie just for Alex.
After asking Mom's advice about what to do for girls who were more fashionable than she, Mel got hair combs for Emily and Marrina.
Mason got a bag of rocks, with a little note that says "For Practicing."
Jordan gets some butterscotch cookies and a dressing gown, for reasons he well knows.
And she intended, before Lieutenant Whittaker left for his own place, to see if she could manage the nerve to give him a pie to take home.
