Richie stopped to think for a few moments. Mom always taught him not to lie if he didn't have to. It helped keep your story straight later on. That said, there was no reason to be completely forthcoming either.
"Yes, that's exactly what happened, lady." He says, with such emphasis you'd think he was being sarcastic.
