I feel like Scribbld just mocked me a bit. As I was adding the RP community it decided to point out the fact that I have no friends.
Either way I have no idea what I should be writing in one of these so I'm just going to start out by saying yesterday at work some little kid was telling every strange child that he saw that there was no such thing as Santa Claus. It disappoints me greatly when parents just flat out spoil the magic for their kid by letting them in on the great secret right off the bat. Firstly because small children are smart asses and if they know something they're telling everyone!
Second off I don't know even when I found out I still pretended like I believed or even was forcing myself to ignore the obvious glaring holes in the whole idea because it's way more fun to actually think a big jolly immortal fat man travels by a sled at night and gives you presents. Of course now my parents know I know the truth but part of our game is I never have flat out called them out on it. When I was younger I refused to say I didn't believe because I figured it would mean the whole Santa presents would stop coming since the jig was up.
I just think it kills part of the fun and magic of the season to be a total Scrooge about the entire legend. Just because you're a bitter adult doesn't mean you have to kill it for the toddlers. Any adopted future children of mine will be tricked until I just can't trick them anymore.
