Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
I feel like Scribbld just mocked me a bit. As I was adding the RP community it decided to point out the fact that I have no friends.

Either way I have no idea what I should be writing in one of these so I'm just going to start out by saying yesterday at work some little kid was telling every strange child that he saw that there was no such thing as Santa Claus. It disappoints me greatly when parents just flat out spoil the magic for their kid by letting them in on the great secret right off the bat. Firstly because small children are smart asses and if they know something they're telling everyone!

Second off I don't know even when I found out I still pretended like I believed or even was forcing myself to ignore the obvious glaring holes in the whole idea because it's way more fun to actually think a big jolly immortal fat man travels by a sled at night and gives you presents. Of course now my parents know I know the truth but part of our game is I never have flat out called them out on it. When I was younger I refused to say I didn't believe because I figured it would mean the whole Santa presents would stop coming since the jig was up.

I just think it kills part of the fun and magic of the season to be a total Scrooge about the entire legend. Just because you're a bitter adult doesn't mean you have to kill it for the toddlers. Any adopted future children of mine will be tricked until I just can't trick them anymore.

No he's real. Those parents were lying because I'm sure that kid was a naughty little brat who wasn't getting anything for Christmas anyway.

I still wouldn't tell the kid Santa wasn't really. Thinking you're getting coal for the rest of your life is a worse thought than thinking the guy doesn't exist and that your parents will give you things.

No no. The kid'll be devastated because Santa didn't even give him coal! Santa hates him. Don't people know how to punish their children! My kids are going to be living in fear.

Well I'll just tell my children they have to behave or I'll return them.

They might be too smart for that and ruin the box or hide the recipes so you can't!

I still tell my friends to like, go to sleep early on Christmas or Santa won't come!! And they're like: "Ugh, Sam. Really?" But like, let's be serious...little kids are snots and looooove spoiling things for other kids. I don't know what that's about.

Christmas is more fun when you like...keep believing in Santa, I think. :3

I believed in Santa until I was around 7 or 8? We were riding in the car because every year on Christmas Eve, we always used to take a car ride to look at the lights while they put out presents. Then one year I put two and two together outloud and my Uncle was just like "Just be quiet" and I did. He didnt want me spoiling it for the younger kids, I imagine.

I never really got any presents after that. I think once you figure out there is no Santa you stop getting presents on Christmas. So in a way, Santa is real~

I had classmates in elementary school tell me he wasn't real multiple times.

They were mean.
