Cillian Wilkes
Hufflepuff
Pureblood
March 1, 1959[Personal]Personality: Cillian had a major switch, mostly because he was very gullible as a younger child. He always wanted to please his mother while also staying true to his sister. When he was separated from his sister by houses, he let others influence him. Because of that, his head wasn’t screwed on straight the entire time, though he thinks Narcissa helped keep it there when she came. He goes with the flow, following or leading when he needs to. When it comes to Maeve, he follows her ninety percent of the time (not that he’ll let her know that). Usually, all it takes is a look from her and he’ll back down from what he’s doing. Still, he is his own person and he will follow what he believes is right. If someone can convince him that eating dill pickles for the rest of his life will better him in some way, he’ll be eating them all the time. That’s just how he is.
History: Bypassing all the old family history, Cillian adored his mother’s attention no matter what she was trying to teach them. He took in the learning as much as possible, though he also spent as much time as possible running around with Maeve. It’s what got him in trouble most often with their mother, but he didn’t mind, since he knew he could always focus on more important things later. When they got their letters, he was thrilled and couldn’t wait to get to school.
When he was sorted into Hufflepuff, he really didn’t think anything of it. Until, that is, Maeve was placed into Slytherin. The separation both terrified and excited him, though he wouldn’t admit it to anyone who asked. He had friends, sure, but he was never that close to them; all he cared about was keeping contact with his twin. It was her that he was loyal to.
When Narcissa entered the house of Hufflepuff, however, things changed. He was at first appalled by how she was talking about the house, though he soon realized that he was doing nothing to stop it. He couldn’t understand why someone would do that, so he did the only thing he could think of: he asked her. After hearing what she said, he decided to do his own research and asked Maeve as well as others. After observing and asking, he was lead to the following conclusions: Gryffindors were stupidly brave, Ravenclaws stupidly smart, Slytherins stupidly ambitious, and Hufflepuffs … were just stupid (save for Narcissa). Annoyed at this revelation, he shrunk back from the world and his twin, rethinking everything he knew. He didn’t want to be stupid, but brave and smart didn’t fit him (in his opinion). He didn’t even think he had the ambition.
The summer before his fourth year really changed for him. He didn’t contact his friend, choosing instead to stay in his room and “better” himself. He kept in contact with Narcissa and Maeve only during this time, though only Maeve could pull him out of his room. When he returned to school, he ignored all sense of Houses and concentrated on connecting himself to as many “good” purebloods as possible.
Hobbies: When he was younger, Cillian loved to read and play with his twin. As he grew older, he is more quiet and likes to observe people. He still enjoys reading, but he also likes to push himself forward, get ahead however he can.
Patronus: He hasn’t been able to completely perfect it yet, but it’s a pine marten (which he is embarrassed about, actually).
Boggart: His mother, actually. Since he had been sorted in Hufflepuff, he’s always felt that she is constantly disappointed in him.
Pet: Maeve got her cat, he got an owl named Claudis.
[School]Desired occupation: Anything within the Ministry
[What if?]Has anything changed about your character?: He’s mostly original, but the Lexicon lists him as a Slytherin and “in a gang with Severus.” Obviously, that isn’t happening. Also, he’s got a twin.
How do you feel that would affect his/her relationships?: As he gets older, he becomes more distant, though he doesn’t want to admit why so things get strained with those who used to be close to him.
Any future events that you would like to see and/or change from canon?: Not sure yet. His only future is a Death Eater who gets killed (as far as canon goes).
[Other Information]PB: Thomas Dekker
Other information: He gives Hufflepuff a bad name. :D No, seriously. He’s one of those that really can’t be placed in one house because he’s a mix of Slytherin and Ravenclaw. So the hat put him in Hufflepuff to grow.
