To the rescue [28 Jun 2010|01:11am] Mar'i sat slumped in the small cell that she'd been locked in for...how long was it now? Several weeks? Several months? The days blurred together, and she couldn't even tell the night from the day anymore. She was chained to a post, her arms and legs bound so that she could not fire her starbolts and break free. Oh, what she would do to the guards if she only could.... There were some days, after the torment that she put through by her aunt and the guards, that she almost gave up hope on her brother ever coming to rescue her. But she never did. If there was anything that her mother taught her about Earth, it was that she could always rely on her heroes. Who knew, maybe her father would hear and come to rescue her. But for right now, she was too tired. She wanted so badly to sleep...but couldn't. The guards would come in when she did. Have their way with her. She heard a disturbance down the hall. Age: 16 Birthday: April 18th Codename (if using one): Nightstar PB: Sticking with comic scans. Abilities: Being half Tamaranean, Mar'i has the ability to fire starbolts, like her mother, hers being purple in nature. Also like her mother, Mar'i possesses the ability to fly. While certainly not an expert, Mar'i has had a little training in hand-to-hand combat from her mother. Weaknesses and flaws: While her Tamaranean biology gives her heightened levels of endurance, Mar'i can still be injured just as easily as the next person. Mar'i has a temper, which has been known to get the best of her at times. Like most Tamaraneans, Mar'i is a very emotional person, and speaks her mind freely. Character location/Home: Tamaran, currently having been freed from captivity. Alignment (villain, hero etc): Hero Team: The Darkstars Relatives (living/dead?): Dick Grayson (father, living), Koriand'r (mother, living), Alerron Yat (older brother, living), Komand'r (aunt, living), Natand'r (cousin, living), Ryand'r (uncle) Backstory: It is no secret that Dick Grayson and Koriand'r of Tamaran, the heroes known as Nightwing and Starfire,had been known to be lovers from time to time. On one such occasion, a daughter was conceived, Mar'i. While Dick knew that Kory was pregnant with his child, he was basically absent from his daughter's life, as Kory chose to raise Mar'i on Tamaran with her son, Alerron Yat. Growing up with her mother and brother, Mar'i was relatively happy, and heard from her father from time to time. When she was five, her brother was sent off to be trained from the Warlords of Okara. She did not see her brother often, but got letters from him on occasion. At her brother's graduation, Mar'i and her mother were captured by her aunt, Blackfire, who had taken control of Tamaran. Alerron was able to escape to attempt to get help, but Mar'i was held in a prison on Tamaran, where she was tortured by her aunt and her personal guard on daily basis. They tried many times, but they never could break Mar'i's spirit. She always had hope that her brother would save her. How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: She will be rescued by her brother from her aunt. What are you planning to do with this character?: Join the Darkstars, maybe venture to Earth at some point. I'd also like her run into Dick and get to know her father a little better.
