Kyle McNider ([info]night_owl) wrote,
It had started off as just another day working in the emergency room. Kyle had already lost conscious count of how many patients he had treated today though could probably still come up with a number if he tried. They were under staffed and under supplied but he made the most of what he had.

Kyle had just finished treating someone who had slammed their hand in their car door. They thought it might be broken but it was really just going to leave on hell of a nasty bruise. The doors slammed open as some EMTs ran a guy on a stretcher into the Emergency room.

“What do we have here,” Kyle said to the EMTs as he ran to meet them.

“Gunshot victim,” one of the EMTs says, “She took multiple rounds to the chest and is bleeding out bad we did what we could but she needs help like five minutes ago.”

Kyle nods as he listens. “OK I’ll take over from here. Just get us to the OR,” he says already prepping himself for surgery while looking his new patient over. This wasn’t going to be easy but if anyone in this hospital could do this he knew he could.
