Happy Halloween!

Hey all!

I was having a look around the code on the site this evening and I noticed we had all those un-used, purged/deleted usernames which no one was using so I thought about trying to get the rename tokens working again. Unfortunately, it's just far to much work to get rename tokens working, so I built a little script which shows you all the current deleted usernames which are available. As before, each username is $4 per name. Just PayPal us the money and we'll generate a new password for the account and email it to you.

For an extremely limited time only the first five people can help me test/debug this by requesting a single username. Just email me (jimmy@scribbld.com) with your one username and we'll test it out!

Once these 5 usernames are gone, it'll be $4 per username.

That said, we hope everyone is well and looking forward to Halloween. It's certainly one of our favorite holidays!

Update: Thank you for those who participated in our little test. All seems to have gone well, so we're now open for business and you can purchase any of the usernames from the list. This morning I also added 250+ new usernames to the list.

Are you getting any specific error message or anything or does it just time out? I've tested using a few proxies and am able to see it through there without issue.

Aww it is a shame that rename tokens still don't work. At least you're bringing these names back though. Fancy script :D

Yeah, I had wished we could get rename tokens working, but since the code is hidden away and not available publicly it's really hard. The LJ source code is a nightmare. It's not something I'm totally giving up on, but it's on the back burner.

Yea, it would be a nice boost of income too since I know a lot of people (myself included) who like to change journal names every so often.

Have you considered a permanent account sort of thing for a major source of income at once? It'd be a great sale for the holidays that are coming up ;D

I believe we still have 10 permanent accounts for $100 a pop. That was back from a year ago which was supposed to help us with the purchase of a backup server. The server is half complete at the moment. Everything is there but the hard drives.

I just wanted to say that the script was a great idea. It's so clean and easy to sift through. Thanks for your hard work, you guys are awesome.

Just curious.. how long does an account have to be inactive or not used before it's deleted? Or do unused journals just stay forever and ever? I've seen a few with usernames I wanted that were created over a year ago but have never been updated at all according to the stats in the userinfo. No friends added or userpics uploaded either, so I'm just wondering if those names are gone forever or if inactive/never used journals are ever deleted and purged?

Hi! Late to the post haha I was just wondering, do we know if the journals are Early Adopter with the 300 icons or if there's any way to find out? I'd definitely be down to purchasing user names again, but only for the icon space really :)
