SO.

I realized today, I'm unmarried. AND a pureblood. So if anyone wants to leave the isles and doesn't meet the current criteria, I think we could figure something out. Not like we have to stay married, right?

It's not right that people don't have the basic right to leave their own country just because their blood is apparently less than mine. They're effectively trapped here. Prisoners because of something they cannot help. I can help.

Just because I'm using one of the only legal means to help someone out, doesn't make me an idiot. It is marriage, it's just not your view of marriage. To me, in this instance, this is a legal arrangement. For you marriage is a big grand epic love, but I don't have that. But maybe helping someone out will make me happy.

No, it's not fucking archaic, it's bloody idiotic to think that marriage is just a legal thing to get by! You get married to spend the rest of your life with someone you love and want to be with, you don't do it for the fucking perks, Mycroft--and it's bloody screwed up that you're acting so high and mighty as if I'm not allowed to have a fucking opinion on it without being a 'sore bastard' or a 'selfish jerk'

In this case where my hands are tied from helping anyone, then yes, it is a tool to help someone. If there was another way I could help, I would. It's not like I'm getting married to have sex or insurance or babies, this is a greater good for people who are being held captive, against their will by their own fucking government. Don't you see the HUGE FUCKING DEAL here?

I'm very happy you found someone you want to be with and spend the rest of your life with but you don't get to judge me because I don't fit into your box of definitions. I'm me, Mycroft, not anyone else, not you. You're totally allowed your own opinions that don't start off with "you're an idiot."
