So, I didn't think Goblins could get any nastier than they already are, but apparently pink hearts, candy and the entire concept of a holiday about 'love' makes them very, very cranky.

I'm kind of afraid of how they'll be when it's actually Valentines Day.

Just another reason for me to dread it.

I have a headache.

Or instead of staying home you go out and do something. Explore something new. That's what I do when I have a day off of work. Sort of.

And dealing with cranky, frilled goblins seems more miserable than the opportunity to relax and watch telly.

Sort of?

Maybe you're right.

Who is this, by the way?

Well, I'm a researcher, so going exploring for new things isn't really 'not working' you know?

I know I am. You should try it. Maybe you could find a new restaurant or pretend to be someone else for a day.

I'm Dex! And you?

Oh, well, now the 'sort of' makes more sense.

Pretend to be someone else for a day...huh. Only a day?

Being me isn't as interesting and fabulous as some people might think.

Dex? I think know you! We went to school together, but I was in Gryffindor. I'm Peter Pettigrew.

Most of the time I spend the day in the library in Diagon though.

Or an hour or something. Go to a cafe or get on a bus and start up a conversation and pretend to be someone else. Start off with a new name or something. It's quite thrilling, sometimes.

I think being you is probably more interesting than you give yourself credit for.

We did, I was Hufflepuff. Aside from your headache, how are you doing?

I haven't been there in a while. I don't really have time, except on the weekends, but even then I'm usually busy with other things.

I don't know, I think I'd wind up slipping back into Peter.

Interesting, maybe, but it isn't much fun.

Aside from the headache, I'm doing pretty well, I suppose. You?

I'm there all the time, which seems kind of boring. I'm not one of those librarian marms, I swear. There's just no other way to research things without a library.

That would make it more interesting. Think of it as a test!

You need to make your own fun then, Peter Pettigrew.

Pretty good. I cut myself earlier on accident, and am just sort of nursing that right now.

It doesn't seem boring. And I really don't know what a librarian marm is, so I'll just take your word that you're not one.

I'll think about it.

Well, I have fun, but I just feel really...stressed out a lot. I'm not complaining about it or anything, I'm just saying.

You cut yourself? Doing what?

You should tell me where you are on Thursday so I can come and show you that I'm not a marm and you can practice being someone new.

Fun is not stressful, that's no fun.

Cooking actually, I'm okay at it when I pay attention but I was listening to the wireless and the quidditch match and got a little excited and cut my finger.

Why would you--

But I already believe you--

Alright. I can't promise that I'll be any good at it, though.

No, it's not. Not fun at all.

You alright?

No promises required. It's not about being successful anyway.

Poor thing I want to hug

Yeah, it just twinges some when I try to use that hand. I don't need a replacement finger or anything. I don't think I could pick a finger that matched the rest of my digits.

Oh. Well, that's good to know.

I wasn't aware that there was such a thing as a replacement finger...that's good to know incase anything ever happens to one of mine.

Definitely!

I'm not so sure there is either, but if I was missing a finger I would want a new one, wouldn't you? Though I'd need to find someone with hands just like mine so it wouldn't look out of place. How funny would I look if I had the wrong handed finger? It would bend all oddly.

Uh, well...I don't know, I think I'd be weirded out if I was walking around with someone elses finger, even if they give me the correct handed finger. But that's just me.

[info]dextered

Well, yes. But given the choice of going fingerless and having a donor finger no matter how weirded out you get? I think I'd take the finger.

But I would rather not lose my finger at all, if anything.

Losing a finger isn't exactly on my list of things to do, either.

That's really good idea. Let's not lose our fingers, okay?

What is your favorite flavor of color?

I'll try.

Flavor of color? I...don't know, I really didn't think that colors had flavors at all.

I like red, though?

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]dextered

Well, if it's frosting or drink, then colors have flavor. Red is cherry or cranberry or something fruity. Green is like minty or leafy.

Couldn't you have just asked my favorite fla--

I don't really have a favorite color flavor. I like everything. Except for Grapefruit, but I don't think they make a lot of things Grapefruit flavored.

Mine is blue.

Raspberry? Berry flavors, I think. I don't know I've never asked.
