someone explain to me why I've been up for the last hour and can't get back to sleep, even though I don't have to be at work until 9

Because when most people wake up, they can't get their bodies back into the relaxed sleep state.

I, however, have overcome this problem. =D Seriously. I'm willingly narcoleptic. And you'll definitely see it when you come.
