Once upon a time...in a land far, far away... [20 Aug 2013|09:14am]
Dawn broke through Jenny's window with all the subtly of a battering ram. She covered her head with her pillow to block the light and for the first time noticed the noise. What was that? It sounded like...birds? Birds on steroids.

Snarling mumbled threats, she threw the pillow aside to get up and close the drapes when she noticed a few things.

One - she wasn't in her bed. She wasn't in a bed at all. She was in a forest dressed like bloody Cinderella running from the ball.

Two - the sun was dawning relentlessly through the trees and those birds were grouped on branches in twos and threes, dementedly singing their little birdbrains out.

Three - she appeared to be alone. If there was a God, this would be a nightmare and she could wake up any second now.

Right?

Downtime [11 Feb 2013|12:29pm]
Jenny left the train station with one idea in her head - go to her flat and shower off the visit with her mother. Fielding questions about her future and her non-existent love life was a tedious way to spend a weekend. Thank God Kelsey lived a safe distance outside of London and rarely ventured into the city.

Thank God Jenny had a flat to herself so she wouldn't have to socialize with a roommate. She hardly socialized at all since she'd taken up the Lionheart identity. The government kept her busy.

App [29 Jan 2013|01:18pm]
Character Name: Jenny Leigh – Lionheart
Character LJ (if applicable): lion_heart
Physical description (face, build, weight): 5'8”, blond hair, blue eyes
Age: 20
Birthday:
PB: (If using one.) Elisha Cuthbert

Abilities:
As Jenny Leigh, she is physically fit and able to hold her own in a scuffle, but without advanced fight training. She trained to pass the physical fitness requirements for the Royal Air Force before recruited for the Lionheart identity. While her plans have changed, she continues to work with a professional trainer.

As Lionheart:
Superhuman Strength: Lionheart possesses superhuman strength enabling her to lift approximately 90 tons.
Superhuman Stamina: Lionheart's augmented musculature is much more efficient than that of a normal human. As a result, her muscles produce significantly less fatigue toxins during physical activity than those of ordinary humans. At her peak, she can exert herself physically for up to 24 hours before the build up of fatigue toxins in her blood starts to impair her capabilities.
Superhuman Agility: Lionheart's agility, balance and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.
Superhuman Reflexes: Lionheart's reflexes are similarly enhanced and are superior to those possessed by the finest human athlete.
Superhumanly Acute Senses: Lionheart's senses have been augmented to levels beyond that of ordinary humans, though their full limits remain unknown. She is able to see at much further distances than normal humans, and retain perfect clarity when doing so. Her hearing is similarly enhanced, enabling her to detect sounds at greater distances. It is also possible that she can detect sounds that are too high pitched for normal humans to detect. It's unknown if her senses of touch, taste and smell are similarly augmented.
Flight: Lionheart is able to propel herself at great speeds through the air, flying under her own power. At her peak, she is able to achieve a top speed of 770 miles per hour, which is roughly the Speed of Sound.
Force Field: Lionheart is able to generate a protective force field around herself. Upon doing so, she gains great resistance to most forms of conventional physical injury. The field is sufficiently durable to withstand high caliber bullets, exposure to temperature extremes, and powerful energy blasts without penetration. She also generates the field typically while flying at very high speeds, protecting her from sustaining the various physical rigors and friction that flying at extreme velocities would cause.

Weapon: The Sword of Might. It gives Jenny the ability to form energy blasts or shields.

Has a private pilot's license, and saving to buy her own plane.

Weaknesses and flaws: Her youth and inexperience tends to make Jenny act before thinking. On occasion it makes a situation worse.
Character location/Home: Great Britain
Alignment (villain, hero etc): hero
Relatives (living/dead?): Kelsey Leigh – mother, living, Martin Leigh - brother, living

Backstory: Finding out that the superhero Jenny and her brother Martin worshiped in the months after their mother's death was actually Kelsey inspired young Jenny to want a life of service to her country in a meaningful occupation. To that end, she decided a military career would suit her and she wanted to fly more than anything else. She was allowed to take flying lessons as a teenager, and became a licensed pilot at age eighteen. She applied for the Royal Air Force during her first year of university and took classes and specialized physical training to help with her goals.

She was scheduled to formally enter the Royal Air Force immediately after university to train as a pilot, but plans changed. While on the town one night with friends, she saw Lionheart fall during a fight and took up the sword to defend her costumed mother. At the moment, she was plucked out of time by Merlin and Roma, who offered her a choice. Not between amulet and sword, but her mother's life or death. They revealed to her that it was foretold Kelsey would perish in this battle, but Jenny had the choice of taking on the Lionheart identity and allowing Kelsey to survive.

What they didn't tell her was that the attackers were servants of Mordred and she was being recruited into a war between the powers.

She made her choice and found herself back in the battle costumed as Lionheart. She fought off the attackers and took her mother home. She is now in possession of the Lionheart identity as well as all the powers and abilities that go with it. The government handler who worked with Kelsey seemed unconcerned that she'd been switched out with Jenny. Perhaps he wasn't supposed to notice.
