can't see the tree

Morgan sits behind the desk of Steven Temple Books, perched on a stool with a book open in one hand. The sunlight comes in from a window, shining directly on him, illuminating the pages of his book. The bookstore, full of used, rare, and antique books, is located on the building's second floor--up a set of stairs that are steep and narrow, leading directly from a door onto the street. Across from the bookstore is a door that leads into another shop, a neo-hippie spiritual place that he's never been in, but who's poster on the door is red and covered with swirls. The fragrances from that store are never enough, though, to overpower the scent of dusty paper and aged leather of the bookstore.
