Backstory:

Maura "Mo" Rayner is the daughter of Green Lanterns Kyle Rayner and Soranik Natu in an alternate, parallel Earth.  She was born while her parents were on furlough to Mogo and spent the first years of her life living on Korugar with her grandparents before moving to Earth with her father.  Mo would later end up living on Ungara with the Sur family--her mother's biological family.  Mo's childhood wasn't particularly noteworthy.  It was as nomadic as any military-type upbringing would be, with her parents being stationed in various sectors at various times in her childhood.  The constant for Mo was the love and support of her family, particularly her grandparents (the Natus) and her aunts and uncles on Ungara.  Where Mo's life went a bit off the rails was at Earth age 18 when she was kidnapped by her maternal grandfather, Sinestro, who sought to force her to join his Sinestro Corps.  Upon the realization that her daughter was missing, Soranik and her partner Iolande went after Sinestro to retrieve Mo.  A battle ensued and, during the battle Iolande was fatally wounded.  Mo, despite wearing a yellow ring as forced by her grandfather, turned on Sinestro for his crimes and refused to back down even as she was being out maneuvered.  When Iolande died, her ring determined Mo to be a suitable replacement.  In the midst of the battle, Mo was deputized as a Green Lantern.  With her mother's assistance they were able to temporarily defeat Sinestro and escape.

Mo trained on Oa for a year and immediately began making a name for herself in the Corps.  She was well on her way towards becoming a trainer for other new recruits when she responded to a distress call from a Green Lantern in the Vega system.  Unaware that what was actually triggering the distress call was not in her plane of existence, Mo investigated what appeared to be a black hole and was unexpectedly swept through it only to be deposited out the other side and into DCNG continuity.  Disoriented, she used her ring to locate Oa.  After extensive questioning and examination by the Guardians it was determined that she was an authentic Green Lantern from the other side of a dimensional portal.  She trained on Oa for another year and was teaching new recruits herself when she was recently tapped to partner up with a newer Lantern for field experience.

*Note: Mo has met her father as well as her "stepmother".  She is comfortable with her family and regards her half-sister as her sister in every respect, though she does not impose herself on their lives.  She has not yet met her mother face to face, though they have spoken on the telephone.*

What are you planning to do with this character? Be a member of the YJLA  and, as needed, the GLC
What do you want to see happen with this character?:  Mo could stand to loosen up a bit and be more than just a Lantern.  I also would like to see some major plot with DCNG continuity's Sinestro.
