I like playing games, obviously. So, who else likes games? What kind of games do you like to play? I'm curious!

Oh so you like sports? I'm not really very good at sports.

Oh you don't have to play football to enjoy it! You can be a secretary or a manager, like me.

Oh, I see! Sort of how some people just like watching card duels back in Domino.

Well yes and no. Yes, you spend a lot of time watching the game, but you do do work for the team. Things like coming up with strategies and writing plays, setting up gear and cheering them on.

Oh, I see. In card games, the duelist usually comes up with his or her strategy on his or her own.

Football is a team sport. But your card games sound fun too.

Oh, they are. Especially when you play in a dueling arena or with duel disks- the monsters in the cards are made to look real with hologram technology.

Though... here, they seem to come to life for real... I'm assuming it's part of the magic of this town.

It probably is.

The more I learn about this place the stranger it is.

Well, they weren't totally the same. Those times, I was in a virtual reality simulator. So... it was more like being inside a computer.

I don't think that's the case here.

Well if you find out anything, or come up with a good idea, share it with everyone. That's the best anyone can do right now.

You seem quite enthusiastic. I would be willing to play a game of Sepulchasm with you if a board could be found.

The board is a relief map of a mountain range which is typically set into a pedestal and generates a low level psychic field. The mountains contained miniature models of the Great Houses. The houses are linked by a path which is divided into colored squares; each house has a playing piece which corresponds to its color. At the beginning of a game, each player picks three of the pieces. Players take turns rolling one of two eight-sided die and their pieces move themselves across the paths according to the number rolled. When the dice show 4-5, the board cracks and splits open, causing the players to exclaim “Sepulchasm!” At this point the players have to will their pieces to hover in the air over the board. The difficulty of this task is determined by the elevation you were at in the mountains when the board split and how well the traits of the houses you are playing as reflect your own personality. The player who brakes concentration and let his or her pieces fall into the chasm first loses.

whats a shadow game?

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]kingofgames

Well, they vary from situation to situation... er, Let me explain. A shadow game can be whatever I want it to be. I set up some rules and they must be followed or else you will play a penalty game. The penalties vary from curses, illusions, and sometimes death. Basically, whatever I deem necessary to hand down justice. I suppose the reason I was reminded of a shadow game by your description is because your game there really reminded my... me of the time I played Monster World with Bakura- he's one of my classmates- and he initiated a shadow game where the losers would lose their souls to him... long story short, I won the game, but the board was three dimensional and had mountains, forests, and the like.

I suppose that I should also mention that shadow games use tremendous amounts of spiritual energy and can sometimes drain someone who isn't accustomed to playing them.
