New Miyazaki Film?

I knew that Miyazaki had been working on a new film although I'd heard that Howl's Moving Castle was his last (thank god it's not!). Here's a trailer for it! Definitely looks awesome, I can't wait to see it.

I've been pretty busy lately, consulting and working at the barn. I suppose I should actually go and do that now before the weather turns to complete ass.

Been watching a bunch of Doug and Rocko's Modern Life. I beat Grand Theft Auto IV, definitely a fun game, the first GTA I've beaten although I am trying to beat III on my PSP. I broke out Final Fantasy III also, finally got through that Nepto's Dungeon area. A good game!

I've got a bunch of consulting appointments scheduled between this week and next. I've got to call Keith and see if he got the Apple job.

Not much else to say at the moment, I just want to go to the barn and do some work and see the horses, so I'll write later!

To Boston!

This weekend was decent. I saw Batman: The Dark Night with Keith on Friday night. Absolutely fantastic, I think I would gladly pay another $9.00 to see it again. There were several parts where I thought it was the end of the movie but it wasn't and it just kept getting better and better. It was really well done, and yes, Heath Ledger was outstanding. He really played the part and he played it pretty damn well in my opinion. I definitely enjoyed that movie.

On Saturday, Emilie and I hung out. I had built a new R.O.S.E Online server for us so we spent some time playing with it. We actually had stayed up till around 1am on Friday playing. We're pretty much back to where we were when I had a server going the last time. I am definitely kicking myself for not remembering to backup the SQL database though, but it's fun. I did hit a pretty big bug since my client was more up to date then the database and CSV files though. Eventually I found a proper fix and it all seems to work well now. I'm already level 23 and I've got into the soldier class. [info]emilie chose to be a muse. We're having fun with it.

On Sunday, it pretty much rained all day, so we played some more R.O.S.E. Then we went to see the horses and I worked there and got my stalls cleaned. Then we went over to my parents for dinner which was great, also had some AMAZING pie for dessert. We actually got to take home the leftovers (of which I had some of today). I picked up my Lego sets that had been sitting there and when Emilie and I got home from my parents I worked on rebuilding them. I was missing quite a few guys though and a few pieces. Not a big deal though, I'm actually surprised I had as much as I did.

Today was Buddy's vet appointment so that was fun (not for him, me). He got jabbed with like 4-5 needles lol. I definitely enjoy watching them do it and all, and I try to ask questions and stuff...they're REALLY WONDERFUL. I love my vets. They're super nice and helpful to me. I also got my stalls done while I was there.

I was hoping that I could have stopped by to drop of the Wacraft maps and DBC files but they weren't done extracting from the client by the time I had to leave. So now I've got to upload like 3GBs of data to a server...getting close though. Probably won't be done until tonight though. At least now I've found this really nice application which downloads the source code for the server, it grabs the database, and then it compiles the code and pretty much does everything, I love automation!

This afternoon, I got some consulting calls done, I re-scheduled my consulting appointment for tomorrow to Wednesday. Keith and I are going to Boston tomorrow for his interview at the Apple store, although that might be a sucky drive for him if he gets it. Then we're going to bum around Boston, hit up Fire & Ice which will be awesome, maybe hit up Newbury Comics and maybe Chinatown, who knows. It's definitely going to be awesome.

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. This week is going to be pretty busy for me!!

Here's some pictures of my new character in the server.

MP5-ing

Yesterday was my best friends birthday. We decided to meet up at this shooting range in NH (about a 2.5 hour drive for me). We both made it there around the same time, cool considering he was coming from Massachusetts and I was coming from Vermont. Anyways, we got there, and got this MP5-SD. It had a built in suppressor, so it was relatively quiet...the guy at the place was wicked cool, totally into his job and shooting and all, so that made for a really good customer service experience. He gave us the whole safety talk and how the gun worked and such, definitely a good talk. Then we went off and shot the thing, unfortunately it kept jamming so after we finished going through 100 rounds we went back and traded it for the other MP5. This one didn't have a suppressor so it was a bit louder and his a slight bit more kick to it. The other MP5 also had a 3 round burst fire which was cool. Anyways the second gun worked well and didn't jam once. I definitely enjoyed shooting both guns, first time I've ever fired a real gun and wow.

We spent about an hour and 200-300 rounds, not much, but it sure was fun!! After that we went to Chili's and got lunch/dinner. I was home by 7pm or so. [info]emilie and I finished up her horsey cowboy puzzle and watched Ratatouille. Went to bed pretty early but I pretty much fell asleep right away, quite tired.

This morning I did some consulting calls and email, will have to get to the rest after I come back from a consulting appointment. I've got some pics of Greg with the MP5 and also some other horsey pics...will post tonight or this afternoon.

Fog-Free!!

I believe I mentioned in my last post that I've gotten most of my new multicam and other gear. I was going to post some pictures but my camera is pretty much useless without the flash and I am not taking everything outside. I've got to buy a new camera, unfortunately, I don't really have $200 for a new camera at the moment. I would love to get my hands on a new Rebel XT or the XTi or that new one, I can't remember the name. Anyways, the rest of my stuff should be coming in the next few hours...

Yesterday I was consulting in Montpelier, relatively short. Unfortunately for the customer it looks like he's got a bad power supply unit. After that I went out and got lunch with Emilie. We had some really good pizza from this place I've not been too happy with. I guess they're okay with slices and stuff, but sitting down in the more restaurant-like area was pretty much a nightmare. After lunch I dropped her back off at work and I went and worked the barn. The kitties are dwindling, not sure what happened to them. I just assume they've been given away. There's only 2 left now, a female and a male. The other original mommy kitty is pregnant, so they're going to have more kitties.

Watched Hellboy and Beowulf yesterday. I had been hesitant about watching Beowulf, not sure why, I thought it'd be really lame, but it wasn't that bad. I actually like that golden dragon at the end there. The animation was really amazing too, well done. I mean it definitely looked animated in some spots but in others it was just amazing. I had pretty much forgotten about what happened in Hellboy, so that's why I watched it. Definitely an awesome movie. I hadn't realized Liz was in that movie either. I definitely enjoyed the creatures in Hellboy II a lot more though, a lot weirder!

Did some consulting calls and emails this morning, also took a shower, still haven't had breakfast although by this time, I think it's lunch.

I did watch this G4 show on GameTrailers, mostly of Gears of War 2 stuff. Wicked awesome though. Don't call Cliff Blezinski, Cliffy B. though, he'll kick you in the balls :) Good waste of 20 minutes haha I can't wait for the game. This week is E3, so there's going to be a lot of cool games and announcements coming.

Tomorrow is my good friend Greg's birthday. He's the guy I play airsoft with. Tomorrow we're probably going to meet-up in New Hampshire at this gun range and we're probably be shooting MP5s, UMPs, M16s, AK47s, etc...it's definitely going to be fun. I am not sure I'll have time to get him a present, but I'll be going down to his place at the end of the month for another OP so I'll see if I can get him something by then. I just barely got my sister a present and her birthday is in April...lol.

I've got a consulting appointment this afternoon, in about an hour. I've got to find something for lunch (we have no food in this place...)...and then the afternoon is mine.

I finally bought Howl's Moving Castle on DVD. Now I just need Miyazaki's other films, I think Spirited Away will be my next one, then maybe Castle in the Sky.

I'll be posting again maybe today with some pictures of the horses. I took em yesterday, I just need to touch them up in iPhoto and Pixelmator.

More Consulting

Well I've already been pretty busy this morning working with a few clients and returning phone calls and emails. I've got a few new appointments scheduled which is awesome ($$$$!!!). Talked to my buddies too, apparently when I texted my friends he thought there was a bee in his pants or something and flipped out...he was playing golf at the time lol. I do wish I could have seen that.

I've got a few new apps for my iPhone, PayPal, NetNewsWire and Tap Tap Revenge :) I've not tried them out yet, but I am sure they're good.

I beat some more Battlefield: Bad Company last night, definitely an awesome game. Except for the mutliplayer, that sucks.

I got my vest, hydration pack and multicam hat yesterday. I had to find the mail man in town because I had to sign for the vest and pack. The vest feels small but apparently that's how they're supposed to be so I'll go with it. It's a wicked awesome vest though. I love the hydration pack too, it's like a little back pack. Really neat.

So I've got a consulting appointment at 2:30 today, should be some relatively easy stuff, file sharing, iChat and VPN stuff...should be fun.

I hope everyone has been having a good summer. Mine's been pretty good...it looks like I won't be going on vacation at the end of the month. [info]emilie got a new job so she'll have to be in training and I'd rather not go without her. I can stay around and work...or just take a vacation and work on projects here at home.

I believe E3 is next week. I'm actually pretty interested in seeing Banjo-Kazooie. I really enjoyed the Nintendo 64 version. I am sure there's going to be a lot of neat stuff coming out of there. That reminds me I've got to update my video games list...

I'm going to see Hellboy II with Keith tonight, should be awesome.

Alright, enough going on and on...have a nice day!

Consulting & Horses

Been pretty busy with consulting and all. If it's not going out to places then I am usually at home working on emails and returning phone calls or consulting over the phone.

*** Auto-save has saved me!! ***

Ok, so anyways...I've also picked up another stall at the barn so that gets me 1 hour total and that means about $120 per month of board I don't have to pay so that's really nice, especially with all my other expenses right now. I did cancel my Netflix account. I told myself I would once I had an empty queue and that finally happened. I've pretty much killed anything I was subscribed to minus Anime Insider (because I already paid for it) and our Internet services.

Had to run to the animal hospital this morning because that weird video issue had resurfaced. I basically told them it was most likely a hardware issue and that they needed to bring it into the repair shop so they could properly diagnose it and order parts and have them replaced. It's definitely going to cost them though, possibly $500-$600. Ouch.

I've not been working on any websites as of late. I still have 2 websites to check into their own repositories. I did remove like over a gigabyte of media from the repositories. There's no sense in keeping it in multiple places...I guess for backup purposes but since it's just a repository, I'll let it be that and not a backup.

Keith and I are going to see Hellboy II on Friday, so that should be awesome. On Tuesday we hit up our Gamestops and picked up our copies of Unreal Tournament III. We'd pretty much been talking about that game since the summer of 2004 and we're just getting it now (actually I've had the PC version since it came out). Anyways, we pretty much played from 12pm till 10pm. We took a good dinner break but we pretty much played all that time. It's definitely a lot fun fun, we did versus, campaign and we finished up with a few online matches. Definitely an awesome game, although I almost prefer it more on the PC, it seems to run fasters, probably because you're using a mouse and keyboard. That's not to say the 360 version is slow, cause it's not...I also played a couple rounds of COD4 with [info]makkintosshu, good times.

So, here's some not so great news. Just last year, Starbucks was opening about 7 stores a day, now they're closing ~500-600 of these stores...I'd definitely have to say either people are fed up with them, or the economy is really going downhill. It could even be a combination of both, but to have a company that was opening that many stores a day 1 year ago, to now, where they're up and closing 500 of them, not good.

The original mommy kitty at the barn is pregnant again...the barn is turning into kitty mania. I love kitties though. The horses are doing well. I snagged the leg straps off my dilapidated winter blanket and I'll use those for my new fly sheet. Nippet's blood tests came back and he's coggins free, which is awesome. I love him. I just need to copper tox his feet for a bit, they're getting a little messed up, so when I get paid which should hopefully be soon I'm ordering a big thing of fly spray refill and some copper tox. Other then that everything is great.

I ordered a bunch of new airsoft gear:

1 Coyote Brown MOLLE vest
1 Multicam Jacket
1 Multicam Pants
1 Small Med Kit
1 MICH TC-2001 Helmet
1 multicam helmet cover
1 multicam hat
1 Coyote Brown Hydration Pack
2 Multicam name tapes
1 multicam American flag reversed
2 Coyote brown name tapes
1 G&G Fan kit for goggles
1 Sanyo 9.6v battery
1 big to small battery cable

A lot of it is coming tomorrow so I am excited about that. It'll be like Christmas in July :)

I managed to get my hands on the latest 2.0 firmware for the iPhone and I've been installing a bunch of apps! I've got the Facebook app, Twitterific, Apple Remote, Things and I am thinking about getting Cro Mag Rally. I remember I used to play Cro Mag Rally with my friend instead of going to class in middle school. So much fun. It would be awesome if they had network play on the iPhone/iPod touch version. Currently I don't see how Things syncs with the desktop version so I will assume it doesn't but it MUST. I have a feeling they'll get it working, just not right away in this version. As far as I know Things is still in beta so they've got some time to get it just right (not that it's not amazing right now, because it definitely is)! The Apple Remote application is pretty much the first application I wanted about 1 week after the iPhone came out....er actually I wrote it about 3 months BEFORE the iPhone even came out! See the article here. Ha HA!

Umm, so that's about all for right now...I've got to go research some servers and I really want to play Bad Company. Good day all!

Crazy Kitty

Well, it's been a bit since I last wrote in. Been busy with consulting and I was house sitting for my parents since Thursday. Nothing much really to talk about. I've been playing a lot of GTAIV, most of which I'm really enjoying. [info]emilie and I are getting pretty close to beating Overlord too, it's a pretty fun game, she seems to like it.

Unreal Tournament III for 360 comes out on Tuesday (at least for us East Coast people). Keith and I are taking the day off and will be playing a lot of it, I am not sure about [info]makkintosshu.

I bought a new multicam loadout. I also ordered some G&G Fan goggles so that should make my playing experience a LOT better. Got a buncha new stuff, I'll take pics and show them when I get all my new shiz in.

Went to work at the barn today, got to play with the kitties and the horses. No pics though...

Not much else to say at the moment, back to work tomorrow, although I don't have anything scheduled. Hopefully I'll be able to make some appointments tomorrow!!

Goodnight all!

DNS Forwarding is Great!

Had my consulting appointment this morning, went quite quickly. I would say 15 minutes max. I'll probably get paid more in travel then for the actual work haha

I basically removed a DNS server from the router, then changed the DNS configuration on the server so that machines used the server as it's primary DNS and then anything else will be forwarded to OpenDNS. I highly suggest everyone check out OpenDNS too :)

Then I went to Small Dog, some lady thought I worked there and proceeded to ask me about the Drobo and online backup to which I gladly helped her out with. I picked up some gear for Canus for Thursday's appointment and then I went to Radio Shack. Some nice guy helped me get the right on/off switch and some electrical tape.

Got home, got the switch working and all, but it's just not going to work that well, the fan really is too big, same with the switch and for some reason the battery gets really hot, so I am going to look at my finances and I'll probably get this slick looking G&G MP5 or something...

Anyways, [info]emilie got a new job, so we're getting Thai food to celebrate...probably watch a movie or something tonight. Have a good one kids!

GTAIV & Vets

I've been semi-busy the last couple of days, hence no real updates. At one point the main database server for Scribbld went funky and the OpenDirectory service crapped out. Fortunately I don't have many real OD users so it was pretty easy to get that back up and running. I think I'll be making backups every so often of that because it's really lame that it just lost all that data, quite suck-ass in-fact.

I hung out with Greg on Friday, we just went to the Army Navy store, Ming Moon, and a couple of gun shops. Parro's has the best stuff, the assault rifles (real steel) were like $800-$1300 which isn't too bad really. I never found the little med kit that Greg has, maybe I will have to look online for it.

This weekend [info]emilie and I took care of my parents house. I've been playing a bunch of GTAIV, it's a lot of fun, Greg seemed to like it a lot too.

Watching Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and some Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad too. Episode 6 I think it was pretty much put me to sleep, the end was so crap.

We did go and see WALL-E, I absolutely loved it. I plan on going at least once more to see if I can find the pizza planet truck and the other things.

Had a vet appointment for my horse today. They gave him some drugs to "calm" him, within about 30-45 seconds he was almost asleep haha He was out pretty good which was nice, he was done with his shots, teeth, and cleaning in about 15 minutes. The whole thing cost about $100 less then I thought it would so that's really nice.

Emilie and I watched The Two Towers this evening and an episode of Beck. This episode was much better then the last, a bit more funny.

Tomorrow and Wednesday I have consulting appointments, it should be good stuff, relatively easy. That reminds me I need to email Wednesdays appointment to see where they're located. Eeeh I keep getting side tracked...

So yeah, I think it's time to call it a night, maybe I'll surf the web a bit or read some Anime Insider. Have a lovely night all!

Consulting & More...

Well today I had consulting. Previous to that, I did sleep in a little, I've got to stop doing that...it annoys me, mostly because I feel like I'm wasting a lot of time. [info]emilie made us some delicious pancakes for breakfast, she's still not 100% but she's getting there. It must really suck, but I'm proud she's doing well.

Consulting was relatively easy considering I've never pulled apart an iMac G4 before. The only thing that was a bit difficult was getting the thing to split in half. The heatsink was pretty well attached so it made it a bit difficult. I basically pried it from the metal piece it was attached too. Got the drive replaced and the thing back together within 30 minutes or so. I was pretty impressed with myself haha Unfortunately the software end of things didn't go well, I just blame it on Panther being old and all. I recommended that he just find a copy of OS X Tiger so I think that's what he'll do.

I worked with the horses this afternoon after doing stalls. The kittys are all growing up and now they're really starting to act like cats. I love it.

I attempted to play some COD4 this evening but it was being stupid so I didn't bother with it. I finished up issue 163 of Game Informer, had a nice review of Final Fantasy XII so I can't wait to play it. Also had a big thing on Dark Sector which I played a couple weekends ago at Keiths. Definitely a lot of fun.

Tomorrow, nothing is scheduled so I might play some Star Fox Adventures and will work the horses. I'll be going to see the new Indiana Jones with my Dad tomorrow. That should be fun.

Hope everyone had a nice day!

Horse Days...

First here's a few photos [info]emilie took this morning. Thought I would share them with you all! That's my little kitty!

So anyways, I had to pick up my parents at the airport yesterday, they were just getting back from a trip to Ireland, kind of sounds boring to me, but hey, they had fun. Maybe if they had some horsey activities over there, I could handle it, and I am sure they do, but I could probably do the same thing here, for a lot cheaper.

Today, not much going on, just finishing up some Mint installs. It's some really great web analytics software, check it out if you have your own website and stuff. Also working on a new social website for equestrians. It reminds me a lot of FaceBook, but obviously not a feature-filled, but I think people will enjoy it.

I actually chatted with Adelaide the other day, one of my ex-girlfriends who I've not spoken to in ages. She was a really great person, still is, we definitely had a lot of fun. Unfortunately she's way down in CT, but who knows, maybe we'll meet-up sometime.

It's miserable here, crappy and raining...but I think I will still go to the barn as I've not got a lot of other work to get done and I've got some really delicious (or so they say) horse treats to give out.

I am thinking about going back to school since I might have guaranteed admissions to the University of Vermont, but ONLY if I can get into the Equine Science program. I think it will definitely be a challenge but it would be a real lot of fun and stuff to learn all about it. We'll see, just waiting for an email back from my advisor.

Well, I'm off to get some other things, done. I've been messing around with Linux and I love it. I've been using it for servers for many years but now I've turned my main desktop into a Linux machine and I must say, it's awesome, although not as good as Mac OS X, but definitely much better then Windows! Have a lovely day everyone!

Weekend!

Friday I had some consulting in the morning. Definitely a lot of fun. It was for this private school, religious I believe but fun. They've got a nice little network going but it looks like they're out-growing it. They've got this tangerine iBook running their proxy server, a little funny, but I think we'll be upgrading that with either Squid or OpenDNS. Only spent an hour there, basically just going over things, so there's some research to be done but it'll be fun.

Did some work from home in the afternoon, got a bunch of emails out and did some web work. I was going to go out and get some dinner, either from the pub or form that new Thai place, but I ended up having some delicious army food. Haha

I was going to go riding this morning but it's pretty crappy out, raining. I do think it's going to clear up so probably this afternoon I'll hit up the barn. I ordered a new saddle pad last night along with some muzzle/ear shavers. I can't wait to use them, pretty up my horses face haha

[info]emilie will be home today, I don't think we're going to do anything tonight, might get take-out from the Thai place. I really hope tomorrow is nice, because I want to go riding with Emilie. We'll see though.

Have a love day everyone!

Douches?!

Well yesterday I had some consulting in the morning, it was for Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, great place, great people. Unfortunately, the guy had some corrupt software so we ended up backing up his data and doing a re-install. Then I went to the Post Office and so many people were wondering about the iMac I was shipping off. They were amazed that there was no big tower and it was all right there in the monitor. I love it. Then I found out you can use your own pictures to make stamps which I thought was really cool. I think I might make some with Nippet, it'd be cool.

Then I called Jaime, one of the shipping guys at Small Dog since we're buds and I asked if I could just ship it through him since he's got access to WorldShip UPS software, so he can pretty much ship anything via UPS, and they're pretty much a drop off point anyways. He was totally cool with it and it saved me from having to drive up to the UPS Store in Stowe AND I was going to be at Small Dog anyways cause I had Daniel put aside some nice Klipsch speakers for me, so it would have worked out great. So after getting some lunch or something, I drove there and when I got there Jaime said I couldn't ship it there, that someone had told him not to allow me too. Now I won't name names, but this person has been kind of a douche bag on more then one occasion when I did work there. I mean seriously...why are you such an asshole, give it a break and stop licking the nut sacks of the CEO and CFO, it's lame. But whatever, I didn't want to get Jaime in trouble, he even agreed with me, so we left it at that. On the bright-side I spent more money with these asshats but I did get a nice pair of speakers and I did get to chat with Daniel and Eric, great people.

Didn't really do much last night, just hung out, I did was The Forbidden Kingdom. I enjoyed most of it, mostly because it was awesome to see Jet Li and Jackie Chan together. I do love them, I love watching Jet Li's stuff, I want to get all of it, and Jackie's. I thought it was cool how they had him doing drunken boxing which was in Legend of Drunken Master hehe

Being that I didn't get to ship what I needed shipped yesterday I took care of it this morning. I ordered the wrong name tapes again haha I got 3" tapes instead of 5" so I re-ordered them again. Craig should be shipping my gun out today or tomorrow, apparently the motor was to high so it was fixed and hopefully it's all good now. I can't wait to get that back.

I finally beat Resident Evil 1...only ~10 years after it came out. AWESOME GAME! I absolutely love the RE series. Star Fox Adventures is next on the list, I hope that's a quick on LOL. My Mom called today, she and Dad are in Ireland having fun. I talked to [info]emilie this evening. I think we're going to go out to dinner at Koto when she returns from PA.

Tomorrow, I plan on working both the horses, hopefully outdoors if it's nice. [info]makkintosshu and I might go out for lunch or something. Him, Keith and I played like 2 hours of COD4 tonight, definitely had a fun time. I am getting really addicted to using that G36c with the grenade launcher attachment. I am now level 46...woohooo!

Hope everyone had a nice day and have a lovely Thursday!

Apple Store - Salem, NH!

Heya everyone! Sorry I've not updated in a while (at least a real update). I've been trying to comment though, but with all this crazy business, it's been a bit hard.

Last Friday I headed down to Mass. to play some more airsoft games and I had a training. Friday, got down there around 8-9pm and we just grabbed some pizza and watched Rescue Dawn and passed out. Saturday, the 3 of us (Greg, Jess and I) went out to IHOP. It might have been the first time I've ever been there but I am not 100% sure. It was good though, minus the fake syrup (I guess living in Vermont has made me spoiled). Good stuff though! Then we went back to their place and Jess went to work and Greg and I decided to drive over to Federal Airsoft. It was about an hour and half drive, but worth it. Greg ended up getting a TM 1911, it's really nice although it's not my type. I got more for the Glocks. So we hung out there for probably 2-3 hours, Craig's always got good stories to tell, so that's fun. Got home around 7pm or something and hung out for the night, I can't exactly remember what we did.

On Sunday, we pretty much woke up, geared up and headed down to Bridgewater. We had to wait a bit cause they were still doing paintball and stuff. Training started like 45 minutes later then it should have which probably means we missed a lot of stuff. We got this really great book though which talked about many CQB tactics and stuff. I'll be reading through it when I finish my zombie survival book. So the training was cool, although a bit lame since we were using like "caution" tape to make rooms and walls, it would have been better if they actually had a real facility, oh well, it was only $10, so it wasn't a complete monetary waste.

After the training we got to game and it sure was fun, the first game we had good light, but about half-way into the second game it started to get dark which kinda sucked haha But it was a lot of fun. About 9PM it all ended, maybe a little bit after then, and we were home by like 10:30-11pm. Basically just passed right out haha I was soooo tired and sore.

Monday -- I left Mass about 9am. Stopped by [info]emilie's work and we went out to lunch, got her just in time too hehe. Then I went and worked at the barn, we're back to our normal 3 stalls, which is nice, I did enjoy working more though, more money too $$$!! Monday night, just watched TV, read my book, nothing special.

Tuesday -- Had a bit of consulting in the AM, the clients drive was actually dead (it made sounds worse then I've ever heard, clicking AND squeaking LOL). So I'll be going back there with Ark to replace the drive. In the afternoon [info]emilie and I went to see Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. I only made it like 3/4th the way through the audiobook, I wanna listen to them all...but the movie itself was okay. It definitely didn't feel as epic as The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. It was good though, just not as fantastic as the first. I wonder why they're doing them out of order too?? As far as I know, The Magicians Nephew was the first one...anyways. Went to my parents for dinner and got some laundry done too. Just read books last night and sleep quite well...

Today I am going back to the vets (the client from yesterday) to replace the drive...I probably will just be watching since eMacs aren't my thing and they can kill (literally). Then I am driving down to the Apple Store in Salem, NH. If anyone wants to meet up, just say the word! I'll be down there from about 3:30 till 5pm I would think. My iPhone is crapping out on me. I am going to see if I can pay them an extra $100 (maybe just my $100 gift card) and upgrade to the 16GB and give Emilie my 8GB and then we can sell her 4GB. Dunno if they'll go for it though since it's a replacement unit...I also might get a black Macbook and sell this PowerBook. Anyways, it's going to be a looooong day haha

Have a lovely one kids!

Back to MA

I've actually been busy doing consulting work for once haha. [info]emilie have been working pretty much every night at the barn this week, so we've been dead tired. I sold a couple things on eBay, worth $1200, so that was nice.

I did get this OD vest but it's not molle so it's either going back or up for sale on one of the various airsoft forums. I did order a Condor black vest though, just like my ACU one but in black, I will order the OD one when it goes back in stock.

I'm headed down to Massachusetts tonight around 6PM, this way I miss all the rush hour traffic. Uuugh I-95 is terrible lol. Then Greg and I will go out for some pizza or something, and tomorrow we might go play some mini-golf, maybe I can get him to go and see the new Chronicles of Narnia. It looks awesome. Then on Sunday we have our training and OP: Devil's Light II. Still not sure what vest I will be using :(

Just finishing up some emails and then I am going to the barn, then I am going to get my gear together and relax until about 6ish or so. I might go riding this afternoon, depends on how I feel.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

First Game

Well it's been an awesome weekend over here. I hope you all did something fun! I went up to Underhill on Saturday morning, had a bit of trouble finding the guys house because there was no road sign, so I ended up driving past the street a couple times, woops.

I ended up getting like 6-7 MP5 magazines, a woodland camo vest, some BBs, and I think that's about it. Everything else he had was XXL or L or XL lol, much to big for me. Hopefully I'll get some games in with him and the rest of the VT crew. After that I hung out with [info]emilie, I think we watched some Rush Hour 2 or something, and I got my gear together.

Around 1PM I left for Gregs. Got down there with no issues. Only Jess was there, cause Greg was off doing some work for this lady. He had to edit her entire final video project, it sucked ass.

Finally around like 9:30-10PM he got home. We hung out, then got some pizza from the place right below his apartment. It was good stuff too.

Sunday, we pretty much woke up, loaded up our gear and headed to Dartmouth for the game. The place was kinda ghetto, trashy, but it worked. At first there weren't too many people, enough for like 6v6, which was awesome. I didn't get shot at all the first game and we won. It was like 4-5 vs. 1 at the end and we killed him pretty good.

The second game, I think we won, but I cannot remember, it was fun.

Then the Horsemen arrived and it got crazy. It was like 8v8 or more, probably more like 10v10. It was fun, I had to walk through a friggin swamp though, so that sucked. There go those brand new boots. Oh well, we ended up kicking some ass. I don't think I died that game either.

The fourth and final game, we did loose I know that. Some kid flipped out and one of the team leaders ripped him a new one for being an asshat. Oh well, don't be stupid! Hopefully there will be some pictures posted soon, I know Greg took a couple, but one of the guys girlfriends was walking around shooting pics too. I'll post them when/if I get em.

Quite sore after all that, still a bit sore...after the games, we went back to Gregs apartment and basically crashed haha

Yesterday, Monday, I drove home, horrible traffic on I-95. Apparently they let people drive in the break down lanes...kinda odd, because where does one go if they break down? Haha But I made it home...first went to the barn and did my stalls. This week we've got double since they're down at the Spring Classic in Massachusetts. It just means more money and more backache for me!! I was going to ride since it was pretty nice yesterday, but I was still sore so I just went home, took a shower and caught up on emails and forums and stuff...I think I also read some of my zombie book and passed out until like 6PM lol.

Watched Rush Hour 3 with [info]emilie last night. Pretty funny, I enjoyed it. I always enjoy the mess ups at the end of the movie in the credits.

Scheduled some consulting appointments for this week, I've pretty much only got 3 days this week to work, including this one. Short week, going back down to Greg's on Friday afternoon because we've got OP: Devil's Light II on Sunday. It also means I miss As I Lay Dying on Sunday :( Oh well, the games will be much more fun, AND it's training from some military and law enforcement people too, it's definitely going to be a lot of fun.

So today...not much, scheduled those appointments as I said...worked on some emails, paid some things...just relaxing I guess today, unless I get someone who needs consulting today. Might head over to the barn this afternoon to make sure we don't have to do stalls today. I kinda hope we don't but I have a feeling we do...we have to work every day though (except today, maybe). It'll be nice money though...

Alright, over and out!

Down to MA

Been busy with work as usual. I'm headed down to MA this afternoon to hangout with Greg and then we've got an airsoft game tomorrow down in Dartmouth. It's definitely going to be fun.

This morning I am headed up to Underhill to scope out some deals on tactical gear and some MP5 magazines. This will be neat and fun, finally meeting people within the airsoft community up here in VT! Hopefully I can score some good stuff.

I bought an Echo-1 G36C last night, came with a buncha extras too, only $140, crazy awesome deal. Hopefully I'll get it sometime next week. It's funny because without knowing who Greg bought his latest M4 from, it was the same guy I am getting this G36C from.

Still haven't gotten my black vest from the Army/Navy store, they said it'd be here on Thursday, it's now Saturday, and nothing...argh! I might have to stop by on the way down to MA.

So, I'll be back possibly Sunday afternoon/late evening, but probably Monday, late morning/early afternoon. It's going to be awesome, I'll try to take some photos.

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Consulting & Tactical Gear

Well I finally managed to get the [info]news posted and Scribbld Top 5 going again, since i last checked we're still looking for 2 more communities or so, maybe three, I cannot remember.

On Friday, I had consulting in the AM, I was a bit late because I went West and not East. Not bad though, got a lot of work done on the job and convinced them to get Mac OS X Server instead of using client to run everything. It's going to be one hell of a transition, but I'll get it all figured out, I have a feeling it might be a multi-day process. It was fun though and the people are great.

[info]emilie ended up forgetting her iPhone charger so I had to run that down to her after consulting. I was going to hit up the Army/Navy store, but I wanted to make sure that Greg approved of a black tactical vest going with woodland camo. Unfortunately, I didn't get the go ahead until I got home. Not sure I did much of anything else that afternoon.

Keith and I saw Iron Man that night. Definitely an awesome movie, I enjoyed it. Went out and grabbed a burger afterwards...

Saturday - Didn't really do much, I ended up going to the Army/Navy store, got some helmet covers, ACU and woodland, also got some MREs and black gloves. Also ordered a black tactical vest since it wasn't there when I got there. Fortunately it was the guy working, not that stupid terrible lady who needs massive amounts of work on her customer service skills. This guy was wicked nice, and fun, much better then her. So yeah, I should have the vest by Thursday, which is great.

I did go for a run in the morning, I managed to run up and down the street without a rest, which is good, it means I am in much better condition then I thought I was in. Of course this morning my legs are a bit sore, but nothing ot serious. I will continue with that because I don't want a severe ass kicking come the 18th when I have OP: Devil's Light with Greg.

I also went to see 21 last night with my sister and her friend. It was actually pretty good.

As for today, not much going on. Just taking care of a couple server things, I played some Unreal Tournament III this morning, definitely a lot of fun. Emilie should be home around 3, I am debating as to whether or not I should go work at the barn now, or when she gets here. I might just wait...the weather is just crap.

Well, I hope everyone has a nice weekend, over and out!

CSI, Consulting, Hacks

Had some consulting in Burlington yesterday. Then Ark and I went to the coffee shop and sat down and started to play with Backpack. It's such a nice application, but it's so expensive for what it is. I'd much rather pay like $100 or something to be able to run that on my own server without having such limitations and high price points for what you're getting. Oh well, we're going to try it for 30 days and see how well it works for us. So far it seems to be really cool. We're also using PackRat and I am going to look at getting it all onto the iPhone, so far so good.

After that, I went and picked up my Nintendo DS hack device thingy. And then I went to the barn and [info]emilie and I worked for about an hour. Went home, ordered some pizza (I love delivery). While we were waiting for that to come, I played with my Nintendo DS thing. It's the AceKard 2. I almost got this other one, but after hearing good things about the AceKard...

Continuing...

Oops, got sidetracked and couldn't finish my entry. Anyways, AceKard 2 is cool, just got the 4GB card, and still waiting for some games to download.

I told [info]makkintosshu I'd buy his Sony PSP just incase I break the one I am modding, although I see no reason as to why that would happen since it's no sodering or anything crazy. I also found out you can still play legal games with a modded PSP, which is good to know.

So today, I had some consulting in the morning, really easy, I got the lady to purchase an iPhone since her Nokia was crap. Will get that setup for her when she gets back from vacation in a couple weeks. That'll be cool, I am hoping it works.

I finished up working on the server and setting up the proper permissions. I'll be writing a couple articles on Macintosh-Admin so if you're a geeky Macintosh administrator check it out, it'll be on permissions and VPN.

Today, I'm not doing much else unless I get some more consulting calls. I've scheduled a few appointments for next week so that's good. I might hit up the bike shop that just opened up the block and see if they can change the tire on my bike and if they can I might go for a ride along the back roads. I might go horseback riding because the weather is really nice, or I might just sit down a relax and play some Resident Evil or something.

I've submitted a post on lj_dev to see why they included this chunk of code on the support pages that usually rejects people, I don't know how [info]kratos/[info]cloud got into the support queue haha But I've ripped out the code chunk and inserted my own which seems to be working for the moment.

Have a lovely day everyone!

Another Layout Change!

The main reason I changed my layout again was because I just wanted to have my comments in the layout of the journal, I think it looks a lot better now, although I really liked how the other style had the tags in a cloud? Is this still possible, I am using Smooth Sailing, I really like tag clouds, not in a list like this.

I will be adding a header image in when I get the time to make one, I am debating on whether or not to do horse related or Final Fantasy related...or anime...I dunno...

I worked on some more Crisis Core missions yesterday. I'm really getting through a lot of them. I am going to do them until they all say Very Hard, then I will continue working on the main story. It's such a fun game :) I can't believe I'm able to take down enemies with 50,000HP. Crazy. Although there is some materia out there that I should have, and it does 9999 damage per hit...I must find it.

Had some consulting yesterday, pretty simple stuff. Although things did get crazy after I'd gotten back and some how their accounting database had gotten corrupted and I had to work an additional 2 hours, but I think I solved the issue, mostly because they haven't called back to say it's not working (and it's 11:30am now). Today I have a single consulting appointment in Williston, should be simple. SuperDrive & RAM install. As long as it's not a 12" PowerBook I am going to be okay :)

Then I am not sure what I'm going to do the rest of the day, maybe I'll be able to put down Crisis Core and work on some Resident Evil. I'm probably half way through the game now. I am going back into the mansion after fighting some crazy killer sharks.

I got my Apple Product Professional certifications in the mail, so I am good through December 31, 2009. Phew.

I am hoping my stuff from NewEgg, ModSupply and CodeJunkies comes in soon, I am so anxious! I can't wait to try it all out. I do have one question if you see this [info]confining, can I still play all my legal games? I really hope so and I wouldn't see why not, but it's best to make sure :)

[info]emilie and I are close to being done with Azumanga Diaoh, I think we have like 4-5 episodes left. For some reason I'm really starting to get annoyed with Tomo...oh well...I dunno what series we're going to watch next, we have so many to choose from. I am thinking Death Note since it's supposed to be awesome.

I got my first issue of Anime Insider, I am barely through the issue I bought more then I month ago, and so I've got 2 new issues to read, it's great!

Well I best be going, I have to get some gas before I head up to the consulting appointment. Have a nice day everyone!
