World of Warcraft — Pings [16 Oct 2006|09:01am] Being on my trip to California I thought I wouldn’t be able to log into World of Warcraft for whatever reason. Well I could…but it was terrible! At JFK I connected to JetBlue’s free WiFi and logged in. Even the authentication took quite some time. When I finally connected I had a ping of 8000ms to 8300ms. That’s pretty bad considering I ping around 80 at home…I pretty much gave up right away and logged out! My second attempt was at the hotel. The authentication went much faster and my pong was much more decent at 100ms to 300ms. The next problem came at my MacBook. The laptop cannot handle this type of game at all. My fans were moving faster and faster and the unit was getting quite hot. I played for about 10 minutes and logged out in fear of the MacBook catching fire. It looks like I am going to be World of Warcraft-less for almost a week! EEP!!! post comment

Deleted! [16 Oct 2006|09:01am] I just registered on the message boards of one of my favorite podcasts; World of Warcast. I am someone that looks around for the “forum rules” before I do anything. I only do that because I give out rules on my own message boards to avoid bad posts, posts that have nothing to do with the forum, off topic things and other general rules. Finding none I posted. My post went something like this: Title: To Starman Thanks for the great show. Where’s Lindyen? You don’t have to tell me where he is, I understand. This is going to sound weird, I know you like Apple computers. I thought I heard your voice at Channel Camp 2006 in California. Obviously that’s a summed up version. I checked back a couple hours later, and no one had responded. I checked bak a couple hours after that and still nothing. I wake up this morning and check the General forum and my post is GONE!! I even checked my profile and it said I had indeed made one post and I clicked the “Find all posts by me” link. It found NOTHING!! What’s going on here. Did they delete my thread? Should I start one of those” WHY’D YOU DELETE MY THREADS?!?!” thread? Either way…I didn’t get an on-message board message, nor an email with an explanation of why my thread was delete…hell, I’d rather have it locked or something…still not sure why though….Pretty LAME!!! post comment
