MacBreak - Email Encryption |
[13 Jun 2006|09:53am] |
I’ve been watching MacBreak ever since episode one, and even though they talked about Automator which can still be intimidating to some Apple users, but now this episode is talking about email encryption using Gnu PG. Now they’ve got the Terminal open an they’re talking about Xcode…
I thought MacBreak was going to be more like how to use iTunes, iPhoto and simple things. Don’t get me wrong I am not complaining, I like it alot, and maybe I am wrong but I didn’t think people like me would be watching this. I thought people who wanted to learn the basics of iPhoto and the likes would be watching this.
So talking about configure, make, and make install is really cool and if you’re into things like using Automator, learning about new Apple products and being a root user!

YouTube - MySpace video |
[13 Jun 2006|09:53am] |
I was listening to Inside the Net and Amber was interviewing the guy from YouTube.com. She was asking him what videos he liked and he mentioned this MySpace video. Some kids created this HILARIOUS video which is also one of the highest watched and rated videos on YouTube. I think the first part is the best, the other parts are a little stupid.

Podcasting |
[13 Jun 2006|09:55am] |
So, as I mentioned in my last post, my girlfriend and I have put together a brand new really cool podcast for you all to listen to. I thought I would dip into what it takes to make the podcast.
First we tried doing it through iChat with my PowerMac as the master machine and then I used my MacBook and she was on a PowerBook. That did work okay, but apparently iChat on my PowerMac crashed and we didn’t know that until AFTER the fact! That did suck. So we tried again and that infact worked. We used the podcast studio built-into GarageBand which I must say is pretty nice. The thing I didn’t like was it didn’t really show how to use that and iChat together, but reading the Help file worked
Then we used Podcast Maker which got the RSS feed ready and the podcast uploaded to our server. I really really love Podcast Maker although it is shareware so we need to come up with some money to purchase it, either that or we can continue to delete the .plist file
Next we had to promote a little and I’ve signed up and submitted the podcast to multiple sites like Odeo, iTunes, Podnova and more.
Overall, this was a pretty easy thing to do. Applications like Transmit, Podcast Maker, and GarageBand.
I am sure we’ll be tweaking things over time and we’ve only done 1 episode so far!! This is going to be a lot of fun!
