Created by the queen of the fairies Maeve the Fairy Lantern is a powerful magical object. For reasons known only to Maeve she gave the lantern to a poor Irish Farmer for him to use. Following his death the lantern found it's way into his cousin's hands. He kept it until he had absorbed enough of the lantern's power that he didn't need it anymore and gave it to his nephew.

Cian still felt a little weird about doing the whole patrol thing even though he had been doing it sort of for a while now.
He tightly held the handle of the lantern as he flew around using it's power. Being able to fly was probably the best part of all of thing. If his buddies back home knew about that they would be so jealous.
Uncle Liam definitely won the best Uncle award for this. Though he still hadn't fully mastered all of the things he could do with the lantern yet. Made him wish sometimes that the thing had an instructions manual.
