Leif is a student of language. He grew up bi-lingual at the insistence of his Latvian mother. Eventually he picked up other languages in his retinue and began to use it in freelance work. He never went to college and instead traveled the world and used his knowledge of languages as a translator to make money when he needed it.

He moved into Burnham apartments and his friend Shane pointed him to a want ad for a roommate. He ended up with Amelia Doyle, though frankly she can be a bit to high and mighty for Leif's taste. They have a lot in common, but she refuses to really open up and get to know him.

Leif met his girlfriend Nadja one day riding the bus. Turns out she's a hot model who's actually down to earth and Leif couldn't be happier.
