Mother's Day Planning

Riley had already beaten him to the punch with the easy mother’s day present by saying she would take care of Violet all day for her and dad and now he had to come up with something good for mother’s day. Preferable something that was better than hers which actually would require some planning and brainstorming. Getting out of the house Cian drove to the avenger’s manor where he took a seat in the kitchen with a pad of paper and a pen and started brainstorming ideas.

"You snooze, you loose," AJ told his cousin. "I ate it at three this morning." AJ had spent the night at the mansion instead of going home. Three am munchies were a killer.

Suzie raised an eyebrow at her brother. "You had Chinese at three am?"

"You can get Chinese delivered at 3am, too."

"Jerk," Bobby grumbled. "I was going to eat that."

"Okay. Now you've done it. I must have Chinese." And Miranda opened her phone back up and put in call for her own and everyone else's current favorites -- yes, she remembers them. She always remembers them. If anyone didn't want theirs, it'd still get eaten.

"Of course I did. I was hungry." AJ rolled his eyes. "And to think you call yourself a genius." He couldn't resist teasing her and had a moral imperative to do it as much as he could.

“Chinese sounds good to me, though I could make pasta if people want more options.” Half the time he went to the Avenger's Mansion Cian felt like he was on that old show Eureka because of all the geniuses.

"Chinese does sound good." Then he noticed Miranda was already ordering. She was awesome like that. He walked up to her and kissed her cheek. "You are the best."

Liz was right there with Cian when it came to dealing with geniuses. She was smart and she learned fast, but she was nowhere near her cousins' or Miranda's and Bobby's level.

She consoled herself with the knowledge that they needed family and friends like her and Cian. Somebody had to keep things in perspective.

"Grandma Sharon is the hard one for gift giving."

Miranda smiles at Bobby, then soon gets off the phone. "It'll be here in a few."

"What's challenging about your Grandma Sharon, Liz?"

"She is," AJ agreed. "She's really hard to shop for. Grandma Tasha is the easy one."

“I wouldn’t know about shopping for them but shopping for Grandma Pasty and Grandma Marlene can be challenging.”

"The competition, for one," Liz said in answer to Miranda's question. "With Grandma Val, it's just me so I don't have to worry that I'm duplicating a gift. Grandma Sharon always likes what I give her, but I want to make it really fit and she's not so easy to fit. If that makes sense."
