Mother's Day Planning

Riley had already beaten him to the punch with the easy mother’s day present by saying she would take care of Violet all day for her and dad and now he had to come up with something good for mother’s day. Preferable something that was better than hers which actually would require some planning and brainstorming. Getting out of the house Cian drove to the avenger’s manor where he took a seat in the kitchen with a pad of paper and a pen and started brainstorming ideas.

Suzie made her way into the kitchen of Avenger's manor. She had to plan something for her Mom, too...though she could probably swap ideas with AJ later. "Hey Cian," she said, going over to the fridge to grab a glass of lemonade. "Whatcha up to?"

"Probably trouble as always," Bobby said with a grin as he entered. "Please tell me we have some leftovers in the fridge."

"Oh, the software is ready, Scott. Just make sure the hardware is," Miranda said on the phone as she walked through the kitchen. "Good. See you then. Love you, too." And she hung up. "Hello."

"I think there's some leftover Chinese. Or Solver might have eaten it. Not sure." Suzie smiled. "Hey, Miranda."

“I’m trying to come up with a plan for mother’s day so I can beat Riley. She already took the really good obvious one and took Vi off of both mom and dad’s hands,” Cian said, “What about you guys?”

"Wait a minute. When's mother's day? Please tell me it's not today. Please for all that is holy." Bobby was indeed a Barton and a Stark and lost track of things and time.

"Scott and I are installing an integrated personal-organizer-and-scheduling system into the Building computers, her car, her wristwatch, Grandpa's computer at his house and -- and this is really tricky and where Scott's got to come through -- Dad's research gauntlets, so she can get his attention when she needs to."

And of course said Doofus was entering the kitchen behind his sister. He heard that remark and very quietly sneaked up behind her and gave her a noogie.

Solver has always loved Mother's Day, even though its busy. Momone and Momtwo are such entirely different people, he can't ever just make one stop, but that's ok, they're worth it.

Momone is getting a present he's been working on for ages now. It started with a block of lesser adamantium. Not quite so completely indestructible as Wolverine's bones or Cap's shield, but the next best thing. Even with aid material, he had to go through multiple blocks with X-Ray vision to make sure there was absolutely no flaws.

The work has been done with nothing but one of his maces as a forging hammer, and Heat-Ray vision, condensing the metal down, honing it to a perfect edge that may never need sharpening again unless she fights the Destroyer with it or something, finding the perfect balance points. With so dense a material, the finished product weighs almost two tons - it takes an Asgardian to wield, but otherwise, the weight is distributed right, the balance is right, the edges are perfect.
While that was cooling, he made the second extreme effort required. He'd been practicing extensively to get this just right - and after a lot of trial and error, had finally figured out the proper molding he could put coal into, then use his strength to compress it into diamond - diamonds perfect for inlay into the hilt of Momone's new weapon.
Sure, she has her enchanted weapon, but Momone always appreciates extra weapons - and her brand new Diamond-inlay-Secondary-Adamantium sword will do nicely.

Momtwo - well, that was a different sort of effort. He's world-famous, with contacts in all corners. and he's been secretly calling around to make arrangements for her. The first-class plane tickets were easy. The 15 country guided shopping extravaganza, 4 star hotels all the way, and nothing but each nation's top cuisine breakfast, lunch and dinner along the way should be worth the effort.

After all, following the Asgardian calendar for the most part, birthdays aren't a big deal. He celebrates Yule, but the gifts there are very pre-determined, and its mostly about the meal and family. So mother's day is his real chance to spoil his two favorite women in the world.

Both of them will find their gifts, one boxed, the other in an envelope, on the main table in Avengers mansion.

And by the time he put the last minute touches on the sword, wrapped everything up, and got to the mansion to drop them off, he was starving. He goes straight to the kitchen once the gifts are set out to be found.

Liz was right there with Cian when it came to dealing with geniuses. She was smart and she learned fast, but she was nowhere near her cousins' or Miranda's and Bobby's level.

She consoled herself with the knowledge that they needed family and friends like her and Cian. Somebody had to keep things in perspective.

"The competition, for one," Liz said in answer to Miranda's question. "With Grandma Val, it's just me so I don't have to worry that I'm duplicating a gift. Grandma Sharon always likes what I give her, but I want to make it really fit and she's not so easy to fit. If that makes sense."
