Character Information - Personal

Name: Narcissa Black.
Age/Birthdate: 15.6/January 21.
[Aquarians who are sorted into House Hufflepuff are introverted, but not shy; march to the beat of a different drummer, but don't wear their weirdness like a flag; socially minded, but highly critical of society. Confused? So are the Hufflepuff Aquarians, but they tend to sort things out eventually. Their minds lean toward the practical side of things - they'd rather invent new and useful spells or gadgets than dwell for hours in hot air theory - and the solutions they find to common problems are brilliantly on target. They like people and want to get along well with everybody, but are uncomfortable with intimacy; so they have lots of acquaintances but few close friends. They have the ability to laugh at most any situation.]

Basic Personality: Narcissa is a bitch, in the nicest term possible. She's critical of everyone, judging everyone by every little thing that they do. She tries to pass herself off as being in Slytherin, and she gets a kick out of everyone saying that she is "The Slytherin that Never Was."
However, Occasionally, Narcissa has a nice streak. Only if that person happens to be in Slytherin, is Pureblooded, and has not ruined the name of Purebloods forever. She even gets a bit grossed out by sleeping next to people who are generally Muggle-born. Narcissa doesn't go so far as to call them dirty words like Mudbloods, since that would just be mean, but she won't correct anyone if they call one of her Housemates that. Narcissa doesn't feel like she needs to be loyal to them because they have never shown loyalty to her.
However, those that are loyal to her (that are in the Slytherin House, of course) she will show loyalty to. It's hard, though, because who wants to be friends with a Hufflepuff? Narcissa tries hard to blend in with her sisters, even though one is just in Ravenclaw. It's better than Gryffindor, right?
History: Plain and simple, Narcissa wasn't meant to be in Hufflepuff House. However, for whatever reason, she was stuck in there. She WANTED to be in Slytherin. Ravenclaw wouldn't have been too bad, either. The Sorting Hat thought she was such a mix that she should just be a Hufflepuff and be ambitious for all of those. However, when the Sorting Hat told her that, she through a hissy fit in front of the entire Hogwarts school. She yelled and screamed and still didn't get what she wanted, so she was stuck there forever. Since then, she barely comments on what House she's from, hoping people will just assume she is in Slytherin.
Narcissa always felt like she was the least favorite of her two other sisters. They were always getting more praises than her, even before Hogwarts. Narcissa always felt as though she were in the background, and she feels like now at Hogwarts she can make up for it, trying to make as many people like her as she possibly can. Narcissa is an attention-seeking, immature girl that will do anything to make it to the top. She feels like she should have been in either Ravenclaw or Slytherin just because she is so determined to make it to the top, but obviously that doesn't work out, so she tries to work with what she has, though she still feels like being in Hufflepuff is one of her biggest drawbacks.
Hobbies: avoiding Hufflepoufs, trying to "get to the top" by stepping on other people, insulting stupid Muggleborns, making fun of people for playing petty games like Wizard Chess, Dueling Club, gossiping.
Patronus: Narcissa has never been able to produce a proper Patronus. This isn't unusual for a fifth year, but if she were ever to form a Patronus, she likes to think it would be a snake. However, you can never be sure.
Boggart: Being embarrassed in front of a crowd of people. Narcissa hates feeling humiliation. The worst possible thing that could happen would be for people to not like her. She even wants Hufflepuffs to like her sometimes, deep down inside.
Pet: Narcissa has a cat named Polexia that, quite frankly, is a downright bitch. One might often see Polexia wandering the entire Hufflepuff common rooms and dorms at night, spying on people. Her special talent as a magical cat is to be able to communicate with Narcissa in some way, either by acting it out or just staring at her for a very long time until the message is carried over. It's a little bit freaky -- okay, a lot freaky -- but Narcissa always gets the best gossip this way.

Character Information - School

Desired occupation: She would never tell anyone, ever, because people would think she was a pouf, but Narcissa actually really wants to be a Herbologist. She wants to go searching for new types of exotic plants.
House: Hufflepoufpuff.
Classes: DADA, Charms, Herbology, Potions, Magic Theory, Astrology, Divination (that one's just for the giggles).

What if?

Has anything changed about your character?: Narcissa is in Hufflepuff House, and she is particularly disgruntled about the whole situation. When she DOES have friends,though, she's extremely loyal. She'd actually be a really good Hufflepuff, she's just never given it a chance. She is a REALLY hard worker. She's kind of showing that by working so hard to be liked by other Slytherins. She has plenty of Hufflepuff qualities, but she doesn't like showing it in her schoolwork. She has changed as a Hufflepuff from her first year and into her fifth year in the sense that she respects her classmates, though she doesn't like to show it because she knows the other Slytherins will make fun of her for it and probably never talk to her. Narcissa is generally accepting of Hufflepuffs, though she will never admit to it ever. In the end, though, she did turn to the good side. Narcissa's reasoning is that she learned to accept people like this, understanding both sides. Being a Hufflepuff would force her to think like this.
How do you feel that would affect his/her relationships?: People from Slytherin won't like her as much. Narcissa might possibly have a little more humility than she did as a Slytherin. She might understand the other side a little better, as much as she would like to deny it.
Any future events that you would like to see and/or change from canon?: Narcissa and Lucius will probably get together, but in a completely unexpected way from how it probably happened in the books.


Additional Information: Narcissa is allergic to peanuts. And claims to be allergic to Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors.
The reason that Narcissa didn't get into Slytherin or Ravenclaw as a choice was because threw a tantrum AFTER the Sorting Hat said where she'd be. Harry asked before the Sorting Hat decided that he should be anywhere BUT Slytherin. She had a preference, Narcissa was so split between Ravenclaw and Slytherin that she really didn't know which one she would like better. The Sorting Hat thought that Hufflepuff would be the best place for her.
