Frances poked around on her phone waiting for Martin to pop up from his meeting and go off for food, leaning up against the side of the office building he was currently in. If the lights flickered or the windows blew out, she'd know the meeting went.... sour and she needed to get in there. Hey, she could be a very believable bodyguard when the guy paid her in gold freaking doubloons. And by the way, she was now being followed by the Archival Squad for more. Looking up, she scowled at the picketers across the way and swarming the train station. Oh look at all the people's days you all are ruining, congrats. She sighed and kept playing Bejewelled, checking the time once more.

Cruel archers smirk in their superiority. "Teaches your patience and perseverance. You could be reading the books and those are even longer."

"I mean the two of you can geek over whether or not the techniques used are mystically valid. It'd go over my head." Contemplating her spoon for the upcoming milkshake, she breathes on it and works on balancing the spoon on her nose tip. "Yup, boba tea. And with teleporting, all the food we order will be fresh and quick."

"But I doooo read," he whined slightly. That wasn't a lie, he did read a lot, mostly spell books and latin things but it still counted. Real books might poof away on him. "Am I supposed to read the books first? Or after?"

"I haven't seen one that is yet! Some are okayish and close and some violate basic law stuff. Oh, we can explain it to you if you want!" Clearly education in fail magic of the movies was important. "Yep, no old food," he agreed as he stared at her spoon trick and frowned, trying to figure it out. The spoon on her nose wiggled now. What? He was just checking with tk if it was stuck on right!

She chuckled and then shrugged. "Either. I do both for movies-from-books. But he's like old english epic so it's veeeery long and dry sometimes. He is boring when he does geography."

"I liked Duane's stuff, but I was young and liked reading." She felt the twitch of the spoon and reached up to catch it. "Hey, hey. No no, you'll break the chi bond!" She's messing with him, of course.

"Oh, I'm used to long and dry. If you want I can show you the latin magic textbook. It's very boring."

"You don't like reading?! At all?" Martin just gives her a shocked look. But there were so many interesting things to read! "There's no chi! I'd feel it if there was something. How're you doing it? Show me," he insists with a frown. Chi bonds...as if he couldn't tell if there was one!

She pouts a little, sighing. "To be honest, I'm stuck reading debriefs and reports most days. Less pleasure reading then I used to."

"I too chi! It's chiiied right like crazy glue," she insisted back and laughed, leaning forward and catching the spoon. "Okay, this is fun trick: breathe on the spoon to make it foggy and now put the bowl on your nose." She put the spoon to nose and grinned, sliding it around to find the sweet spot again. "Tip your head around just until it stays."

"That sounds like runes studies, really dull. And hard to read." Martin was not a fan of runes, not one bit.

"You did not chi! If you chiied then I could mess with your chi!" He watches her perform the spoon trick with interest then looks down at his own spoon and considers it before leaning forward and breathing on it. "Can you put it on my nose?" Of course TK wasn't the best to do too publicly so he kept his hands in his lap.

	"Who says you weren't chi-messing?" She smirks when he fogs the spoon, but asks for her help. Nodding she picks it up, and checks the foggy surface. "Tilt your chin juuust up enough to help find the spot. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get it to stick," she adds to warn him patience and sticks the spoon to his nose, hovering over it to catch. 	He tilts his chin obediently, determined to get this right, even if he could do the trick telekinetically, it was the principle of the thing! To learn cool tricks was always a must. 	Frances doesn't even bother to correct or say anything, just picks up the spoon and puts it back on his nose. "Cheap cafeteria spoons are best: lightweight and shallow bowls. You just got to tweak until it sits." She smirks with a chuckle. "One time, during formation, we tried to keep this up while the drill sargent just yelled and yelled at us." He'd nod except...well, that'd kind of ruin the spoon trick. So instead he looks like he's trying to burn a hole in the spoon with his eyes, without going cross eyed at least. This was the sort of concentration you put into a new and very difficult spell, where you tended to lose track of your surroundings. And yes...he was doing this for a spoon trick. Because it was cool and he wanted to, don't question it!

	Frances grins and leans back for the delivery, saying thanks when Martin can't. "First timer," she explains with a proud smile when the milkshakes are set down. 	Smirking, she dutifully takes the spoon of his nose so he can attack his shake. Sipping some her own, she scoops up some of it and sticks the spoon back out, rightside up with the payload for him. "I did well in school," he shoots back, conveniently leaving out the fact that when he went to school in the past, it didn't actually involve sharing milkshakes. He'd have failed that test if so. Lick all you want Frances, you'd have to contaminate the milkshake itself to throw him off. Her milkshake protests by wiggling in her hands and he keeps up the innocent look. Clearly that milkshake liked mages more. Logical explanation.

	He narrows his eyes at her for a moment, then grins even more triumphantly than her. "I live with a Doctor! I'm safe from whatever you have." Faulty logic, but his schooling stopped before it got to that level of science. Not to mention his knowledge of the distinction between types of doctors was pretty...non existent.
