Frances poked around on her phone waiting for Martin to pop up from his meeting and go off for food, leaning up against the side of the office building he was currently in. If the lights flickered or the windows blew out, she'd know the meeting went.... sour and she needed to get in there. Hey, she could be a very believable bodyguard when the guy paid her in gold freaking doubloons. And by the way, she was now being followed by the Archival Squad for more. Looking up, she scowled at the picketers across the way and swarming the train station. Oh look at all the people's days you all are ruining, congrats. She sighed and kept playing Bejewelled, checking the time once more.

Martin has a very serious and earnest look on his face as he turns to her. Wong is very serious about the kitchen. Never go in there unless he's supervising everything you do. Okay, maybe that was said partly out of experience.

Hoary? Oh, that's what Hosts of Hoggoth are, he replies matter-of-factly as if he actually knew what the word meant. It must mean something important, Dr. Strange used it all the time. So the hoary hosts of hoggoth must be better than the non-hoary ones of course. That seemed logical.

	Hey, I do I look like I go around and antagonize magical people on purpose? she asked, looking wide-eyed and innocent as possible. Rule 22 of being a Hawkeye; Never piss off anything you can't out-run or shoot. Wong counts as one of those. She snorted and rolled her eyes, good-naturedly. 	Are you going to teach me some of them? Because Martin was all about learning, and Frances was fun and knew a lot. So clearly a good influence to learn from. No silly! Hoggoth is his name. I suppose you can always Martinize them to make them appropriate, and totally need to introduce you to my source of inspiration, the Skippy's list, she muses, hand over her heart reverently in respect. Well, a few classics are Never Start a Fight, But Be Sure You Finish It. Even If Starving, Don't Eat Hulk's Cereal. Deny Everything Until They Have Proof, Even Then Keep To Your Defense. Check The Toilets For Snakes, Scorpions And Spiders, Always. There were a few, like 'Check the window is unlocked in case someone's parent storms in, pile clothes between bed and said window' that she was sure he didn't really need to know yet.

She squints at him. So he's only hoary when he wants to be? The Occasionally Hoary Hordes of Hoggoth!

	Who's Skippy? It sounds like a pet. But I already follow most of those so I'm ahead then right? Except...who keeps snakes in a toilet? And people called him weird... Hosts! Occasionally Hoary Hosts of Hoggoth! It's important otherwise you can get a spell wrong and it blows up in your face. And he's a Vishanti, he can be as hoary or not as he wants to! Skippy is a genius. A sage of barrack wisdom and military life. I made it a personal charge to do a sizable fraction of his list while in boot camp. She gave a shudder and squirm at the memories of the critters. Well, let's just say toilets are a lot more lively when away from major cities. The crawlies like the dark, if you know what I mean.

Most spells will blow up in my face to begin with. But I will take you word for it. Vishanti... I think I have that dish! Lamb curry, right? She lifts her eyebrow to look innocent while ribbing him.

Can I try any of them and not be in the military? How come you're in the military though? You seem too fun for that. Weren't military people supposed to be serious and grouchy and have short hair and not like fun times? He did wrinkle his nose at the image of a snake coming out of a toilet though. "Eeeew."

Oh of course. Granted, the ones about MREs are clearly lost on you. She grinned at him, wrinkling her nose. Well, seeing as I couldn't kidnap and free Stark's butler to prove my prowess, I had to get into the Avengers by earning it the old fashioned way, climbing up the ranks. Nodding sagely, she smirked. "Exactly. One guy got a bite to the thigh, everyone started checking."

Snickering, Frances reached for the ice cream door and gestured him in. My apologies. Beef.

Well I guess that makes sense. Did you get a fancy title for being really awesome? Because if there were ranks she should have a really cool one. Granted, it could never have the panache of 'Sorcerer Supreme' but maybe there were good ones in the Military.

When she opens the door for him, he shoots her a very bright smile and a gracious hat tip. He was quite happy that hanging out with her meant some of the hand things weren't a worry since she remembered it. You have to apologize to Hoggoth. If he's not happy with you then Oshtur and Agamotto might not be happy with you too. Sage nod. Even if he is pulling her leg a bit, they wouldn't care about curry jokes obviously.

Rolling her eyes behind him as they went into the parlor, she sighs. I don't think any of them really give a mystical nut what I say or think, Pip. However, should I ever see a sparkly sparkly tiger, I will be sure to clear the air. Analyzing the list of flavors, she resigns herself that candy cane is finally gone. Chocolate chip cookie dough? Or victorian toffee?

He blinks as they enter and speaks out loud. "Who's Aragorn?" He'd been too young when it had come out and his pop culture knowledge was lacking anyway. Not to mention if he'd never seen a movie before his magic had kicked in, it was unlikely he'd seen it since. At least he'd heard of the movies...and hobbits. Names were lost on him though.

If you ever saw him you'd know you saw him. It'd be hard to mistake him for a normalish tiger. Martin looks at the options and seems put out that he's limited to only one. He wanted both of her recommendations...

If you get the other one can I try it? Well...technically he didn't need to keep speaking in her head he realized. But it was good practice at least.

If you want. I can't decide between the two, but you can have somethin you like. She makes a face, remembering to mindspeak and what the difference felt like. Too bad milkshakes can't keep flavors separate like scoops, And no, you don't get to get two small milkshakes to try both flavors.<i?

Darn, he'd considered the two milkshakes thing. Hmph, how was he ever going to pick then? But two is better than one... Even dubloons wouldn't get him an extra milkshake he could see. "Toffee, a large one! But can I have the cookie dough next time?" He slowly was trying to go back to normal speak, mostly because he knew it was a weird experience for some people but also not to attract attention if people noticed they were making faces and gestures without words.

She frowned at him in the no-nonsense way, squashing the many milkshake plan right there. "No yammying with special effects because you had too much ice cream." Holding out for a moment or two, she compromised. "A medium toffee milkshake. And a small cookie dough milkshake as well," she added, head turning to include the guy behind the counter and raising two fingers.

She watched him climb up onto his stool and smirked. "Okay, movies you need to watch... What about the Dark Crystal? I'm not sure Labyrinth is... well your age-range, and Hocus Pocus is about witches. Sorcerer's Apprentice? The Princess Bride?"

Her list of movies gets a blank stare and blinking. He hasn't heard of most of them at all. "What are those movies? Are they the ones who try to do magic properly and end up doing it worse than the ones who didn't try at all?"

"There's technical stuff? Like what?" He considers the question of snacks for a long moment. "There needs to be cookies of course, and straws for drinks, and ice cream, and umm...brownies with the icecream. And what's that drink called with the bubble stuff in it that you said I should try? It has giant straws I remember."
