Frances poked around on her phone waiting for Martin to pop up from his meeting and go off for food, leaning up against the side of the office building he was currently in. If the lights flickered or the windows blew out, she'd know the meeting went.... sour and she needed to get in there. Hey, she could be a very believable bodyguard when the guy paid her in gold freaking doubloons. And by the way, she was now being followed by the Archival Squad for more. Looking up, she scowled at the picketers across the way and swarming the train station. Oh look at all the people's days you all are ruining, congrats. She sighed and kept playing Bejewelled, checking the time once more.

Martin considers her words seriously. "It still hurts people for stupid reasons," he insisted, but knew she was probably right about power trips. "I guess. And there's lots of hells, though you can take a portal. I think a road would take too long for no reason."

Suddenly he stops in his tracks and decides to ask her a question that had come up with people a few times recently and was bothering him. He hadn't even thought to ask her till now. "Frances? ...Do you hate magic?" A lot of the hero types seemed to.

She sighed and looked up the street, nodding. "Yeah well, it takes all kinds to make a world. If it wasn't mutants, they'd be after people who aren't like them; different beliefs, different lifestyles, having more opportunities, hell, they'd probably pick a fight with tofu-eaters if they got desperate." She shrugs in apology on behalf of her species. "At least it's reassuring to know that for every asshat out there, there has be some good folks to balance them out."

When he vanishes from the corner of her eye, she thought for a second they got jumped and she'll have to shoot a fuckwit. After making a strangled noise, shakes her head and kneels to be eye to eye. "Martin. Do I understand magic? Not at all. Am I certain it could bite me if I mess with it? Yes. But I don't have to do magic, so it's not my worry." Smirking, she would have ruffled his hair if she could. "But Pip, my mom climbs walls and shocks people, my day care was on a floating fortress and Dr. McCoy, the blue furry guy who likes reciting Tennyson upside down, helped set my broken arm when I fell out of a jet exhaust port. Magic is just another weird I'm used to."

	He listened to her with his eyes downcast and looking worried, but what she said seemed to have been the right thing because he looks up with a tiny, almost shy, smile on his face. "Head cheese is this....vingeary meat-jelly with the face-flesh and organs of either pig or cow. It's ughh-" She shudders before happy ot switch topics. Martin wrinkles his nose. "That sounds like instead of making a spell they used the ingredients for gross food." But talk of her mom's powers has him very interested as they speed walk away from the protesters again. "Is she a superhero like you?"

Right after saying that he realizes that may be secret ID faux pas or breaking whatever secret ID concerns were, he wasn't really sure of how those worked. Not like he had a secret ID either way. He looks apologetically at Frances and shoots her a mental message. Oops, sorry.

He switches to mental-talk and she nods. No problem. It's not like you're gonna blab, but the walls have ears. Anyway, yes, my mom's Spiderwoman, she can fly, lift stuff, zap people even- She pauses and wiggles her eyebrows dramatically. Keep Hawkeyes from making too much mischief. Very tricky task that.

She's given up stopping our kind of fun, mostly she just sits back and waits for the firetrucks to come. She was joking. mostly. Kinda. Milkshake-wise, she's a double chocolate-type.

Frances looked over her shoulder and thought deviously. Say a magical gust suddenly blew and knocked away all those fuckwits' signs away. It would be very sad, wouldn't it? She mock-pouted at Martin.

That's better than stopping it! Besides, the fire trucks come after we're done. Martin nods sagely, the cleanup crew should always come after the fun. She likes milkshakes too! Double chocolate is good but there's even better ones.

Martin looks back to the crowd and considers the suggestion. She had the right idea, there was no need to be nervous about these people, he should just be his mischievous self. Nothing would happen to them. Very sad. Hmm, he also had never heard that term. Fuckwit. It seemed a good one to know.

Taking off his hat and moving a little so Frances was blocking the line of sight between him and the crowd, Martin gave her a small grin as his hazel eyes were looking awfully blue about now. He taps his hat against his nose, letting it cover the whispered latin as the winds in the area picked up a little. The protesters think nothing of it until a freak gust blows through, taking their signs with it and down the street where they all get stuck on top some artsy net-looking sculpture.

I guess they can't protest anymore with no signs, that sucks. Cue innocent young mage looks and a shrug.

Frances really really wants to look over her shoulder and check the mayhem, just to point and laugh at these idiots being taken down a peg, but that might attract attention to the two. And angry mobs were rather quick.

Martin, you are a maestro, pure talent, she praises with a proud and fond tone. And I think we should put a few blocks between us and them, just to be sure. There's a milkshake or two calling our names, right? Can't you hear it?

He scrunches up his face in concentration and puts a gloved finger to his temple for a moment. Hmm...at least two. They're definitely calling for us. It's rude to leave milkshakes waiting. More sage nodding, because this was serious stuff, milkshakes in distress and looking for people to appreciate them.

Martin has a very serious and earnest look on his face as he turns to her. Wong is very serious about the kitchen. Never go in there unless he's supervising everything you do. Okay, maybe that was said partly out of experience.

Hoary? Oh, that's what Hosts of Hoggoth are, he replies matter-of-factly as if he actually knew what the word meant. It must mean something important, Dr. Strange used it all the time. So the hoary hosts of hoggoth must be better than the non-hoary ones of course. That seemed logical.
