The very bored and slightly overheated woman in the Happy Gilmore Mini-Golf booth held her hand out with the change, the sour expression on her face never changing. "Thank you very much and have a nice day." Frances took the change back before she tapped her fedora to the top of her head and swung her magenta pink golf club up and over her shoulder to rest. Grinning up (yes up, damn tall genes), she gave a flourished after-you gesture to the golf course before the two players. "Alright James Rogers, prepared to be owned on some mini-golf."

She wrinkled her nose a little. "To be honest, the 'golf' we usually play is ping-the-Blackhawk on base." She rubbed her neck and shrugged. "When the world doesn't need saving? I guess I'm play guitar with some friends, doing covers. Or eating. Eating rocks."

"You play guitar? Nice. What kind of covers?"

"Mom hoped getting me into music would distract me from the family biz," she snickered before taking her round. "Old rock stuff, the Black Keys, Queens of the Stone Age. Good bar stuff."

"Hey, nice. I'd love to hear you play some time. With the biz and all, as you say, we don't always get a chance to get to know everyone else outside of work."

"Hmm." She looked him up and down, judging with a crooked smirk. "Well if you don't mind probably get groped a bit, can always hit the bars when we play." She nodded he had a point, they usually only crashed together after fights when no one could move. "You're right, our lives can be hectic, huh?"

"Now why should I mind a little friendly groping, hmm?" he replies with a grin.

"Yeah, a bit. I grew up in the thick of it, just kind of registers as 'normal' most days."

She snorted and started laughing out loud. "Who'd believe that a Rogers would ever say that out loud? I'm impressed!"

"Exactly, our definition of normal would give others gray hairs."

She pulled a Vana White ta-da pose. "Talkin' to a sniper, sunshine. We do it when you least expect it. Come then, show me whatcha got."

He winks. "If the club meets with your approval, its still ladies first. So... I'll show you mine when you show me yours."

She snickered and gave a shrug. "It's as wonky as expected, but we're gonna have to aim for windmills and gulping frogs, let's do it." With a laugh she bobbed a curtsy before taking her turn. "Now, now, this is a kiddie center. Don't make those kinds of promises."

He grins at that, setting to trying to figure out how to do this. First thing he notices is that miniature golf clubs are /really/ not made for people his size. He manages to figure out how to lean enough to still make it work - and demonstrates pretty good aim and hand-eye coordination, and no experience with miniature golf, which sort of ends up translating to kind of average.

She has to admit, it's pretty funny watching the son of the First Super Soldier try to use a normal-sized putter on mini-golf. He looks like he'll fall over and is far too focused on the game. Leaning on hers, she does her best to hide any laughing or smile in case he catches her amusement. "Doing pretty good there, Buckminister."

Hey, drinks are on the line. Its probably a done conclusion, but he has to at least try and give her a decent run for her money.

"Still a lot of catching up to do. You didn't tell me you were a pro."

"Alright, what are your usual outlets when not hustling or whacking a ball about?" She waved at the golf courses to prove her meaning.

"Okay, okay, rein it back. There's flattery and there's laying it on thick."

He chuckles, glancing at the scorecard. "Total gym rat. That I do get from Dad. Military hours and the works - up a bit before dawn to work up a sweat before breakfast, and six to eight hours a day doing... something. Boxing, martial arts, gymnastics, weights, you name it. I know you know how much work it is to keep up with the folks with actual powers and all."

She mades a childish face at waking up early; having to do it doesn't mean having to like it. Apparently sheer willpower was genetic. "Remind me to bring donuts or some serious nosh for the next morning meeting." She nodded though, about having to push it to catch up. "No kidding, it's not a good sesh until you need to puke."

He nods in reply. The mention of pushing to the limits is, no question, familiar. "Dibs on the maple bars, just saying now. And yeah, lot of work, but I admit it, I love it. Though perfectly happy to substitute rock climbing, swimming... stuff like that if I can find people to go camping or fishing with."

She laughs and shakes her head at his request. "Okay, I'll get a few maple bars, to keep a tussle from starting mid-meeting." He did have a point, working out and all their maintenance was a pian in the ass, but also worth it most if the time. "Fishing, huh? You've got the fuzzy-hook adorned bucket hat and waders and everything?"

"Me? No. Old school, roll the jeans up and wade out barefoot. All my camping... ok, unless overruled by whoever I go out with is 'you get one backpack and what you're wearing worth of clothes, food, tools... everything, if it doesn't fit, it doesn't go."

"Aaah, a traditionalist, less gizmos and gadgets. Nice." Making a face, she shakes her head. "Sounds like survival training weekends, which are a complete pile of joy. Probably way more enjoyable when done for fun."

Nodding, she wrinkled her nose. "We go where we're needed. Which is rarely Paris or the Ritz."
