A lot of people have asked, so let me just say it here so everybody knows. Ginny wasn't on the train to Hogwarts today, she's in St. Mungo's. About two days ago, she came down with dragon pox, so she's in hospital now. She's okay, she's being cheeky with the healers, her mum is fawning all over her I can't believe I'm not there. In a few days, she'll be well enough to come to our infirmary. But until then she's down in London. I was wondering if anyone had any cards or gifts they'd like to send? The Headmistress is going to bring Ginny anything we send on Tuesday, so just let me know.

How pathetic am I that I miss her so much al

Private to Seamus
Hey mate, you're in for her at Chaser for a while. Up to it?

Perhaps I could learn a small amount of various languages, just to prepare for wherever she may send me. Should I learn 'you look fantastic in those shorts' in every language? A gold star for me? Yes, I hope so!

Hedwig...white floating dot in the sky...I reckon that's all I remember.

I think 'skirt' would be more universal, just my two sickles. And I'll get right on that star, right after "achieving world peace." You got it.

You know, I'm suddenly very glad we didn't spend a lot of money on you. Poor Hedwig!

Yes. A skirt is, in fact, more useful. Is that some of Ginny's cheek rubbing off on you? Pity, that!

Don't I feel special. You should have bought be a castle. Corner's Castle.

Hey you know, I used to be cheeky! I used to have spark! Maybe I've been rubbing off on her, eh? Whatever, you love it. You'll be caressing this journal page later, I can bet.

Corner's Cave. Lovely piece of real estate.

Used to be...when was that? I must not have been as excited about your cheek then as I am now. Maybe I'll even lick this journal page, after I'm sure everyone is asleep. And it's certainly better than Cho's sobbing. Why do we swap girlfriends?

Will you buy me a few plants to decorate with, too?

Back before! You know, then! I had real spunk. Noteworthy, even. Yes, this page will be pressed so close to your heart, the ink will tattoo to your chest. How manly. Wait a moment. You used to lick Cho's tears? Well. Considering she cried enough to drown a man, I can understand a bit of backwash. Have you ever realised that we swapped girlfriends?

And some nice tea cosies, naturally.

First year, even? When we were just wee little things and I was really, really short? Oh, the memories! It is manly. There's just something about your writing that makes me feel manly, Harry. Not licking her tears, per se. She used to...make me kiss them away? Don't ask! She cried in the bedroom, too. Did you get called Cedric? "Oh, thank you for that, Cedric."

You're such a considerate fellow.

Mike? As much as I enjoy the banter about us as wee ones, let's cut to the chase:

She totally called me Cedric too. I never had to kiss her tears away, but we were snogging, and she murmured out Cedric, and then? Same snog? She asked me to tell her how he died. Because murder is such a turn on, clearly. How did we not compare notes before now!

I also help old witches disapparate across the street.

Oh, I see. Thank you for ignoring the chance to mock how short I used to be.

Merlin! I don't know if I should feel better or worse that I wasn't the only one subjected to this. I don't know if I want to understand this...she goes from picturing Cedric to asking how he died? Was she picturing him...dead when snogging? Blimey. At least you never shagged her.

Yeah? I'd rather push them in front of muggle cars. Kidding.

How short you - used to be? Ah ha.

I know! I'm part relieved, part horrified. And also a bit creeped that she got worse when she dated you: kissing the tears, good god. Though at least you didn't have Cho the Necrophiliac. Unless - did she call you Cedric during - oh no. She wouldn't.

You are a man for all seasons, clearly.

I am almost as tall as that oaf Hagrid. No not mock me!

There has to be a happy medium, but for now we can just settle on being relieved that we aren't alone in this. Maybe it's some sort of...kink? Hell if I know, but I must have missed the announcement that said kissing tears was sexy. Oh, she would. Don't underestimate Cho Chang. Half the time I expected to see a ghostly Cedric hovering above us. Watching. Not my cup of tea.

You haven't even heard the half of it yet.

If you're as tall as Hagrid, then Tom Riddle's my uncle. Well. According to that rumor, he is. Hmm.

We have each other. We can clutch to each other here in the gathering darkness that is knowing we both dated a girl that gets off on fantasizing about a dead man and the hour of his demise. And you know, in this scenario of you and Cho and Cedric, I can see him hovering above, having a scone, whispering to you how to please her best. And now, I am going to need to see a Healer some more.

I'm just brilliant without knowing that half.

Yeah? I've heard that one. See, it all works out! I am a genius.

Maybe I can hold you at night instead of just the pages of journal with your writing on it...please don't hex me, Morag I knew I heard voices. Now I think I'm going just a tad mental. Thanks, mate. No more cuddling for you.

And if you knew it all? Your brilliance would be insane.

Really, does everyone sit down and have a meeting to come up with all of these? Is there a vote?

Perhaps though we'd need to set down the ground rules: if we call each other by the other's girls' name, we try to look past it? Or worse, if we call each other Cho? Cedric? No, I don't think this is going to work at all, no. I'll just cuddle my broom, it loves me.

My God, man! How can you keep me from such knowledge! Oh, wait, no, I think I'll do just fine without it, thanks though.

I think so. There has to be a certain amount of votes for the rumour to start trailing along the gossip line.

...I think this really all depends on who gets to be Cho, and who gets to be Cedric. Because mate, I may have to draw the line there. My broom loves me and hates your broom. Sorry.

You seem to be handling it well! Good on you, Potter!

Well. As long as it's democratic, rumour away then!

I'm not wearing a black wig for your pleasure. I think we have reached an impasse. Your broom loves me, it took my broom out for drinks and was whispering about defection. You're the USSR of Quidditch, mate.

Yeah, I'm a resilient man. Inner strength and all.
