| Now this is what we need: a DADA project that encourages us to work in teams. Teamwork is so essential in the fight against the dark arts; an individual can succeed, but a group can triumph. I sound like a ponce, I know, but I really believe that. So consider this notice, group: I'm excited to get to work. Besides. My group is tops. Poor Ron.
I'm heading out to the pitch for a bit of extra practise, just wanted to try out some new routes. I think it's still light enough, yeah? | comments: 19 comments or Leave a comment |
| A lot of people have asked, so let me just say it here so everybody knows. Ginny wasn't on the train to Hogwarts today, she's in St. Mungo's. About two days ago, she came down with dragon pox, so she's in hospital now. She's okay, she's being cheeky with the healers, her mum is fawning all over her I can't believe I'm not there. In a few days, she'll be well enough to come to our infirmary. But until then she's down in London. I was wondering if anyone had any cards or gifts they'd like to send? The Headmistress is going to bring Ginny anything we send on Tuesday, so just let me know.
How pathetic am I that I miss her so much al
Private to Seamus Hey mate, you're in for her at Chaser for a while. Up to it? | comments: 118 comments or Leave a comment |

I hope everyone had a brilliant Christmas. And - thank you for the gifts, I appreciated them all. Anyway. I hope all is merry and bright, even though for those of us in London, the Christmas was not very white. | comments: 42 comments or Leave a comment |
| At tonight's meeting of Dumbledore's Army, we have a special guest: the Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt. Minister Shacklebolt will talk to us about his experiences as an Auror, a career spanning two decades of service including the prestigious position of protecting the Muggle Prime Minister. Minister Shacklebolt is also eager to work with us on the practical application and will be instructing us on the use of summoning spells in battle. He's a brilliant man, and this is a real honour to have him here.
Given that he will be here during the younger forms meeting but I have to meet with him and the Headmistress and the Healer, so I needed to cancel that late, all forms will meet at the 19:40 time and we're moving it to the Great Hall to accommodate us all. New members are absolutely welcome tonight - and even if you have no interest in the DA or working with the practical instructions, the Minister encourages you to come to his talk, if you are interested.
Thanks - and see you tonight! | comments: 14 comments or Leave a comment |

| Ginevra? Don't talk to me. Don't come near me.
Just - everyone, leave me alone. Just leave me alone.

| Just as a note: the first meeting of Dumbledore's Army for fifth through seventh years is this Thursday from 19:40 to 21:00 in the Room of Requirement. If anyone is interested, the first through fourth years are having their meetings from 16:40 to 18:00; if anyone would like to come and help out, that would be welcomed - our upper years group is pretty large, but the lower forms' group is massive unwieldy sizable. Though, you could just leave it to Ginny and me and take bets on how quickly she loses her temper. I've got ten galleons on it being within twenty minutes.
Anyway, see you then. And don't forget, new members are absolutely welcome, no matter your skill level. This is in Dumbledore's honour, and he was a wizard known for his compassion and acceptance. As long as there are those loyal to him here, Dumbledore will never be gone from Hogwarts. Let's keep his legacy alive as we ensure that we know how to defend that which we hold dear. | comments: 32 comments or Leave a comment |
| How do I bloody well do this. Just - blurt it right on out there? Dither up first? Oh hell.
I was wondering if there is interest in reforming Dumbledore's Army, the Defense Against the Dark Arts organisation. I know that last time it existed under a veil of secrecy, but this time around, we have the Headmistress's encouragement approval as well as staff support. The role of the DA was vital to the victory we achieved at Hogwarts just a bit back, and it's clear that it's paramount for all of us to not lose practical skills of battle against Dark Forces in a time of apparent peace. Unlike your DADA class, we focus not on theory with supplementary spell practise but instead on hands-on casting of protective and defensive spells. And this time, no sneaking around from bloody sadistic bitch Umbridge the rest of Hogwarts, which is a bit of a bonus.
We're open to all ages, all levels of DADA, though depending on interest, we'll probably have split times between those in the upper levels and those below. But more critical, anyone can join, whether you were in the first DA or not.
So - anyone want to give it a go? | comments: 31 comments or Leave a comment |
