Franklin and Reed both looked at the scene of destruction before them with matching expressions of horror that could only come from men of the Richards' line. A smashed table, flipped over couches, and the plasma screen TV destroyed. Ben would be especially sad about that one.
"Mommy won't like this." Franklin says, looking up to his dad. "I've got a feeling you're right, son. Now, do you want to explain again just how Valeria got the idea that surprising your mother with dinner using my Negative Zone transdimensional-capacitor was something that needed doing?" Reed asks.
Franklin explains the situation from start to finish, this version of the story leaving out more of his own involvement in the matter than the previous two versions until they came to the portion where he--ooops, he meant Valeria---hit the button and made all of the living room furniture disappear...along with his sister.
Reed, of course, wasted no time reversing the process, which brought back a scared, and very tired, little girl who'd fallen asleep on her father's shoulder. The device was keyed to the backup base Reed had established for the team awhile ago, but as there was no one there, Valeria was terrified until Daddy showed up.
Sue was likely going to kill him once she heard the story, but perhaps she'd be mollified by the idea that Valeria was safe.
"Franklin, go to your room and do not disappear under any circumstances. Your mother and I are going to want to discuss this with you after we've talked." Reed says. The little boy marches off to his room sadly, hanging his head. Certainly, it was fun to play with Dad's inventions, but not when it involved zapping his sister to another dimension while Dad was on the phone ordering pizza.
Yes, it was very likely Sue was going to kill him.
