Goodness, there must be something in the water! I've helped with two twin births and a set of triplets this week. They're so sweet to play with in the nursery, but I'm exhausted. I can't imagine what their mummies will go through once they head home!

Wow. That's a lot of babies.

Overwhelmingly so! It's been a busy week in pediatrics.

When I remember there are people out there like yourself who help bring life into this world, my job seems terribly unimportant.

Oh, surely it's not that unimportant!

I work in the Improper Use of Magic department at the Ministry - my job consists of figuratively slapping the wrists of underage witches and wizards whenever they use magic outside the walls of Hogwarts. I also am responsible for animagus registration.

Very important.

But without your department, there could be a serious breach in the statute of secrecy! Then, it doesn't matter that I'm helping all these little ones into the world, because everything would be compromised at that point.

I bet you see lots of interesting characters come in, what with working animagus registration.

You know, I never stopped to think about it like that. When you're doing it all day, it just seems like incessant scolding, after a while. Kind of like a parent who keeps reminding their kid they need to clean their room, you know?

Oh, yeah. Some of them look a little sketchy, but I'm always interested in finding out what they actually turn into. Heard a guy turned into a snake once. If that doesn't say something about someone's personality, I don't know what does.

It could be worse, you could be on nappie duty all day. I'd much rather incessantly scold on those days, believe you me.

What do you think you'd turn into, if you were one?

You have a solid argument, there.

Huh. You know, that's a good question. I'd like to think I wouldn't turn into a snake, that's for sure. Maybe a dog or something? They're pretty friendly and loyal. What about you?

Perhaps a rabbit? I've never given it much thought, but rabbits are fairly nurturing by nature.

Rabbits are awesome. I mean really, who doesn't like rabbits?

Elmer Fudd, for one. Very much not a fan of rabbits.

Dogs are pretty good, too, you know.

Elmer who?

It's a muggle--thing. One of those funny moving pictures, but for children. He's always chasing after this poor rabbit who's clever and knows how to get out of trouble.

So wait, you're telling me that some guy named Elmer chases after a clever, trouble making rabbit in these moving pictures?

Interesting.

Yes! It's drawn pictures, I think they're meant for small children.

They can make drawings move without the use of magic? Muggles do not get enough credit for their ingenuity.

I'm not quite sure how it works, but I agree with you. They're quite amazing to watch. Sometimes I'll go to the cinema just to watch the drawn picture movies, even if they're meant for the wee ones. Having a young niece is helpful in these situations.

I don't have a niece or a nephew, or any small relatives really. It would look weird for me to go alone, though I would probably be more fascinated than any of the children...which would also be weird, out of context. They might think I'm a little touched, seeing how their first thought would most likely not be that I'm a wizard and have never seen one before.

Predicament.

Well, if you'd ever like to come with Marietta and me, just say the word. She's fairly friendly, as long as you start off with buying her sweets.

Just don't let her bring any of the terribly obvious wizarding sweets in. Then you'd be causing work for yourself, yeah?

I was thinking more of the fizzing whizzbees and the sort that make you levitate. Definitely not good choices.

Ha, I used to crush up fizzing whizzbees and put them in my brother's drink at the dinner table. Good times.

But yes, message has been received, loud and clear - no blatantly obvious wizard treats at the cinema.

Your poor brother. I can't say much, though. Joceline and I weren't always kind to Heathcliff growing up, either.

Muggles have fairly decent sweets, so we won't be in want, I think. There's a movie showing, called The Jungle Book. I think it was made a few decades back, but they've brought it back for showing.

It is my birthright as the older sibling to torture him. Only I have that right when it comes to Ludo. Besides, I usually only did it when it deserved it.

Let me know when you plan on going, I'll try to make sure I'm free that day. You've piqued my curiosity.

That certainly is one way to look at it. Our brand of torture usually resulted in him having to play tea with us, or dressing him up in terrible outfits because he was younger and we could.

I'll be sure to do that. I'm not working on Tuesday, so it may end up being then.
