Halfway between here

"Tell me again why we're relying on him to save us all?" the Huntress -once Misfit- asked Kyle.  It was a stage whisper so Eli could hear her easily. He wondered the same thing himself, really. Why out of all the possible heroes were they sending him? He pretended he couldn't hear them and checked his vanguards again. Kyle grunted in response as he over saw the last bits of the portal that would send Eli back in time. It had been hacked together from an old mother box and some of the treadmill in the Flash museum. Not having a speedster any more, it would likely be their only chance to use it before it blew up spectacularly.

He could feel his palms getting all sweaty and he rubbed them against his jeans.  They'd offered him something that would likely be more protective, but it was a bit too super-hero looking for his tastes. 

Eli's wings flexed and spread out before snapping back in.

"You remember everything?" Kyle asked him.

"Yeah. I do. 'Help us Kal-El you're our only hope'." 

Kyle snorted. "You ready, Eli?"

"No." But he stood in front of where the portal should open up.  Green light crackled around him as a pin-point hole opened up. Slowly and slowly it grew larger until it was just big enough for him to fit through.

"GO ELI! NOW!" 

Without hesitation, Eli jumped through it and started to fall.

1. I don't remember the alien's first attack.
2. I used to read comic books a lot when I was younger.
3. I can recite the entirety of Star Wars a New Hope verbatim, from memory.
4. I had been to three different times and four different realities by the time I was fifteen.
5. I've kissed Supergirl under the mistletoe.
6. I had to babysit my dad once when he got turned into a little kid. It was weird.
7. Cats and dogs seem to think I'm a giant bird to try and eat.
8. I don't belong to any sort of religion.
9. I can play the guitar a little.
